As scheduled, we filmed the studio scenes on the 2nd of December as organised with the music department to borrow the music instruments and our photography teacher with the studio. We arranged for our band members to wear specific clothing and met at 3.05 at the studio and had a 5:30pm approximate finish, which we did finish on.

Setting up the studio

In order to use the green screen area to fit all our equipment in, we had to rearrange the studio and make room. We then positioned each band member to get them in the shot.

Lyrics

We printed out the lyrics in a

very big font so our lead singer

could follow the lines to the music as we

pointed.

Filming

We all took part in filming by taking on all the possible roles such as:

• Filming with the camera both on the tripod and hand held

• Holding up the lyrics and pointing

• Setting up/setting down• Telling the band what to

do• Instructing the music on

and off

Realism

To make our band seem realistic, we added the bands name: “The Cassettes” to the base drum as indie bands tend to do this. We wanted to create an iconic logo and carefully thought about the colour and font.

Realism

As well as having the instruments, we wanted to add wires and cables to make it look like a real set up and that they

were actually playing the

instruments.

Any problems? Before starting, we tried the cameras and a yellow sign was flashing. We thought it was a sign of low battery, therefore we had to think of an alternative camera to film with. In error, we realised it was actually the memory card missing and is a easy mistake to be made, but easily learnt from. However, this actually benefited us as we used a higher quality camera resulting in better footage anyway.
