75,9 % of the German population is online.These are 53,4 million Internet users. Thus, the number of Internet users has nearly tripled in the last 12 years.(2000: 18,4 Mio.)

In Germany in 2012, about 42.3 million people bought or ordered goods or services for private use via Internet.

In March 2013, 25.1 million users are active on Facebook in Germany
