UH Login vs UH Lab Login UH Login Used for: Registration UH Wi-Fi access Sinclair/Hamilton computers Any other UH sites UH Lab Login ONLY used for UH Lab in Room 3K Will be needed for technology courses and other classes meeting in this room Must request a separate password from IT Keep this password handy!! Save to your iPhone notes, or email yourself so you can find it when you really need it. 4. Setting up your UH email Check the status of your UH Username at: https://www.hawaii.edu/username/ Fill out the information Click CHECK STATUS The system will allow you to activate your username and assign a password. Register for classes Class Schedule Check Registration Status Find your student records View/Print Transcripts Holds Change of Address Emergency Contacts Tax Notifications Make financial payments Financial Aid Overall Status Eligibility Award information www.myuh.hawaii.edu 6. Class Schedule There are two places where you can find the class schedule. UH LIS Site @ www.hawaii.edu/lis/schedule-of-classes My UH portal @ www.hawaii.edu Log in with UH ID and password Click on Add/Drop Courses under Registration Select the current semester/term (i.e. Fall 2013) Go to bottom of page and click on Class Search. Select Institution (UH Manoa) Select Subject (Library & Information Science) Then, click on Section Search. You will then see a list of all available courses within your search parameters. Hint: Clicking on the CRN will provide you with detailed information regarding the course. 7. 1. UH LIS Website OR 2. MY UH Portal Two Different Ways to Find LIS Courses! 8. Registration Status Go to My UH Portal (www.myuh.hawaii.edu) Log In using your UH log in and password Go to link: Check Registration Status Select the semester/term (ex: Fall 2013) View your registration status! 11. Find Your Registration Status 12. Find Your Student Records Go to My UH Portal (www.myuh.hawaii.edu) Log In using your UH log in and password Click on Student Records link Click on any tabs at the top to view or change your information. 13. Find Your Student Records Includes: - View Holds - Transcripts - Personal Information - Financial Aid & e-Refunds - Print Your Class Schedule 14. Print Your Transcripts Go to My UH Portal (www.myuh.hawaii.edu) Log In using your UH log in and password Click on Student Records link Click on: View Grades and Unofficial Advising Wait for STAR to load then click on the Transcripts tab Click on: Campus Transcripts By Semester Your current transcript will load Can be viewed on screen, printed or saved as a PDF TIP! You MUST bring a printed copy to each advising session! 15. Find Your Transcripts Reminder! Your unofficial transcript must be printed before each advising session. 16. Regular v Extension Regular UH LIS Certified Course CRN longer Must register for at least one regular UH course if you are also a UH employee Extension UH LIS Certified Course CRN Shorter Same classes, just affiliated through UH Extension (Professional) School. 17. How to Register Registration must be completed by each student on or after their individually assigned registration date; A student cannot register without first meeting with their academic advisor; Each student must bring a printed copy of their unofficial transcripts as well as a printed copy of the advising sheet emailed to you by your advisor. 18. How to Register Go to My UH Portal (www.myuh.hawaii.edu) Log in using your UH log in and password Click: Add/Drop Courses Type CRN and click Submit Changes Click: Class Search Find the course Click: the check box Click: Submit Changes TIP! Make sure you follow through all the way to the end and check your registration status before signing off! 19. How to Register Reminder! Courses must be approved by your advisor in your advisement session before you can register. 20. Find Scholarships! Two Places: - My UH Portal - UH Financial Aid site 21. UH Employment Types of employment: Graduate Assistant (http://workatuh.hawaii.edu) Part-Time, Salary, benefits & Tuition Waiver. Search for Graduate Assistant positions at UHM Carefully follow instructions on how to apply. Each is different! Student Employment (https://sece.its.hawaii.edu/sece) Part-Time, Hourly, no benefits, no tuition waiver. Log in using UH username and password MUST print a job referral to find out how to apply/interviews 22. Find Employment at UH Two Places: - UH Employment (GA, full time, etc) - UH SECE site (Regular student employment only) 23. What is Voyager? Voyager is used to search the UHM Library catalogs, find media, and locate course reserves. http://uhmanoa.lib.hawaii.edu/ Log in using your UH username and password Search for materials by subject, author, keyword, etc. Save your searches and more! Can be accessed through www.hawaii.edu and the Hamilton Library site. 24. Accessing Voyager 25. What is ListServ? ListServ is an electronic mailing list for people who wish to receive specific information emailed to them. Examples: UH LIS UH LIS Student Chapters Professional Organizations 26. What is ListServ? Pros Great way to stay up to date Can subscribe to multiple lists Easy to sign up All information comes to one place Cons Too many emails! Unsubscribe instructions can be confusing 27. What is Laulima? UHs online learning collaboration system. Laulima = Many Hands in the Hawaiian Language. Access using https://laulima.hawaii.edu and log in with your UH username and password. Use Laulima to access course information such as grades, course related documents, email other students in your class and find your online/hybrid courses.
