Veggies that I Love

• Kick-off Email:

Welcome to “Veggies that I Love” 5 day Challenge,

Let’s discover which veggies we love so that we can happily eat more veggies.

A month ago I hated eating salads, now I love them. What happened? I discovered two salads that I really like! Now I eat salads often.

The challenge starts today. Its easy: every time you receive an SMS send me a text (650 6447398) with one veggie that you love. After 5 days, I’ll send you the list

• Follow – up Text: (in case they don’t send any SMS)

• Good Evening Josh, today I realized that one of my friends loves baby carrots. I on the other hand prefer tomatoes, which vegetable do you love?

Theoretical Justifications

Main Justification:

• Identifying your favorite veggies will create a buzz around eating vegetables, hopefully this will shape the user’s behaviors so that in the future they associate veggies with a pleasant taste

BJ Fogg’s Model• Motivation:

• User want to eat more veggies

• Simplicity• Easy access: users have their phone with them at all times• Low barriers: texting requires almost no effort

• Triggers• The trigger will be an SMS from someone else so we condition people

for cue

Shortcomings of Design

• People will only think about veggies, they won’t actually eat them

• Some users may receive too many SMS everyday so they may be reluctant to participate

• The SMS has no “easy” association with veggies so users might forget about the challenge
