What  is  it?  

Virtual  field  trips  provide  an  opportunity  to:  

•  Engage  in  self-­‐directed  learning  

•  Learn  about  authen=c  ar=facts  

•  Explore  places  related  to  concepts  being  studied  

•  Connect  with  persons    

•  Explore  beyond  the  boundaries  of  the  classroom    

A  good  trip  starts  with  a  good  plan  

•  Objec=ve  of  the  trip  

•  Loca=on    

•  “Travel”  dates  

•  when  the  ac=vity  will  take  place  

•  Ac=vi=es  to  be  completed  during  the  trip  

•  Outcomes  of  the  experience  

•  Contribu=on  to  learning/course  objec=ves

•  Who  is  the  director?  •  What  is  the  mission  of  NINR?  •  When  and  how  did  the  NINR  get  started?  •  How  has  NINR  funded  research  contributed  to  

global  health?      •  What  are  the  five  NINR-­‐supported  areas  of  science?

Learn  about  the  NINR:  

Go  to  the  funded  grants  sec=on  and  read  about  one  

research  project  in  your  area  of  prac=ce.    Remember  to  

take  notes  so  you  can  share  what  you  learned.
