Why did Jesus Come?

•Salvation? … NO!

•That was only the beginning of why he came.

•Why did he come? What does salvation lead to?

•He came to initiate a process: 1. Beginning point is forgiveness of sins—SALVATION

2. End point is LIFE & PEACE

• Staying at SALVAION level (seeing) and not progress to LIFE (entering) is why many do not see the GLORY (John 3:3, 5)

How is this possible?

• Jas 4:8 KJV Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

• Your proximity to the source of Life—GOD determines how much Life you have. You can only give what you have.

• This proximity is not determined by GOD but by you

• In other words, you determine how much LIFE you, your family, business, etc has and can exhibit

How do we increase our proximity to GOD

KEY: Mindset i.e. what you set your mind on.

Jesus used parables to teach deep mysteries

Mat 13:13 KJV Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

Mat 13:16 KJV But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Mat 13:18-23 KJV

(18) Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

(19) When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

(20) But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

(21) Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

(22) He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.

(23) But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

•Unfruitfulness in your marriage, career, ministry, parenting is caused by the CHOKING of the WORD.

•The Word can be CHOKED

•What Chokes the Word?

• Mat 13:22 AMP As for what was sown among thorns, this is he who hears the Word, but the cares of the world and the pleasure and delight and glamour and deceitfulness of riches choke and suffocate the Word, and it yields no fruit.

•What Chokes the Word?

• According to Jesus’ parable:

1. the cares of the world

2. the pleasure and delight and glamour and deceitfulness of riches (master, do not be mastered)

They CHOKE and SUFFOCATE the Word, and it yields no fruit.

• Dr. Luke’s version

• Luk 8:14 KJV And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with

1. cares and

2. riches and

3. pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Fruit starts but is aborted or never ripes

Hearing the Word (seed) is not enough

This is why church-ianity has failed

Hearing is just the beginning of a process.

It is insemination

Fruit (baby) has not yet been born

Baby could be anything GOD word has promised you including good health

Even when fruit comes, it must be stewarded to maturity

God lives for fruit. He abhors UNFRUITFULNESS

• Mat 7:19-21 KJV Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is

1. hewn down, and

2. cast into the fire

(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall ENTER into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.

• Hearing is not enough. Practice the Word in all you do

Luk 13:6-9 KJV

(6) He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

(7) Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

(8) And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:

(9) And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Joh 15:4-6 KJV

(4) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

(5) I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

(6) If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Three (3) Apostles saying same thing about unfruitfulness and fire

How do we abide in Him

KEY: Mindset

Review the things that causes unfruitfulness

Where are they situated? In the Mind

Rom 8:6 KJV For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

CARNAL MIND = DEATH in your home business etc

SPIRITUALLY MINDED = LIFE & PEACE

• What does it mean to be Spiritually MINDed?

• Isa 26:3 AMP You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.

• Benefits of staying / setting our minds (mindset) on the Lord and His Word

1. The Lord will guard him

2. keep him in perfect and constant peace

• Glorify GOD by bearing fruit—not just saying it

• How do we glorify GOD

• Joh 15:8 AMP When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.

• Setting our minds on our challenges will make us unfruitful and he is not honoured by such

• Mind is fertile. If you do not consciously meditate on GOD’s Word, weeds (cares, pleasures etc) will grow
