Arabian Ranches, UAE

Contractor: Taisei Corporation Location: Dubai, UAE

Construction of 11 structures being built concurrently. Rapidshor was designed in modular towers to not only allow plan curves to be incorporated, but also for quick and easy movement and re-use on site to meet tight deadlines.

Twin Bridges, Australia Contractor: Fulton Hogan Location: Princes Highway, Flinders, NSW

In their design brief for the Twin Bridges project, Fulton Hogan had a number of challenges to overcome. They needed a falsework system to support not only the soffit of the bridge but also the formwork which is needed to cast the wings. The Rapidshor shoring system fulfilled these requirements very successfully.

Mafraq Interchange, UAE Contractor: China Civil Engineering & Contracting Co Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Construction of 3 bridge decks, utilising over 100,000m3 of Rapidshor. The largest 2 spans were constructed first, with the third span being constructed from equipment reused from the previous 2.

Mt Lindesay Highway Overpass, Australia

The overpass is 125.5m from abutment to abutment and the bridge is approximately 9m to the top of the slab.

The Rapidshor shoring system was used for soffit support, with Alform Beam as primary bearers on a deck that was used under the Megashor, as a working deck and for access.

Approximately 90,000kg of Rapidshor and Super Slim Soldiers were supplied to the site for Stage 2.

Nad Al Sheba Bridges, UAE Contractor: Afcons Location: Dubai, UAE

Construction of the bridge leading to the main grandstand. Linked Rapidshor towers support Superslim & GTX Beam slab support. Rapidshor was selected as Afcons required a product that was flexible, to allow reuse on other sites.

Location: West Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia

Within Levels 3 to 5 there are approximately 400t of Rapidshor shoring system.

Given the structural requirements of the building through its erection phase, Rapidshor was chosen as the preferred high-strength shoring system, as it has been designed to safely withstand both the concrete weights of Levels 5 and 6 together.

The Yas Hotel, UAE

Contractor: Al Futtaim Carillion Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

A number of different RMD Kwikform systems were used to construct this complex hotel. Rapidshor was used in a birdcage configuration, supported by Megashor and R700, designed to support and incorporate the node points used to help position the steel ladder sections of the gridshell shroud.

Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer

The first level, was approximately 9.5m from the ground with gantry support for site access incorporated.

A further two levels sit above this floor at approximately 3.5m high per floor. Rapidshor was utilized to support the high level concrete slab, while its enhanced leg capacity enabled the gantry structure to support the opening required, while the structure is formed above.

Contractor: NEWGEN Formwork Pty Ltd Location: Bedford Park, Adelaide, South Australia

Sitra Bridges, Bahrain

Contractor: Gamuda Location: Manama, Bahrain

Construction of a new 3 lane highway intersection. Rapidshor was selected due to its flexibility to deal with the varying soffit heights from 4m - 14m.

Northern Busway, Australia

The key area of work consisted of design and supply of the Rapidshor shoring to the soffit of a voided slab which was 1800mm deep. The area of the slab to be poured was 700m² and the propping height ranged from 6.5m up to 10m. In total RMD Australia supplied over 5000m³ of Rapidshor which also included the Rapidshor Captive Deck System, which provided a safe working platform.

Contractor: Abigroup Contractors Pty Ltd Location: Windsor to Kendron, Brisbane, Queensland

Zallaq Bridges, Bahrain Contractor: Hafeera & IJM JV Location: Manama, Bahrain

Construction of a 7 span bridge across the Zallaq highway to Bahrain University. Rapidshor shoring used to support the 240m span across the existing highway.

Victoria Point Shopping Centre, Australia Contractor: Swiftform Location: Victoria Point, Queensland

The Rapidshor shoring system was used with Albeam as primary beams, with a leg grid of 1.8m x 2.4m. The Rapidshor shoring system supported 3m Airodek Beams and Airodek panels, with a 3m x 1.8m leg grid. The client enjoyed excellent turn around, saving time and labour in the stripping process because Rapidshor disassembles very quickly.

Shahama - Saadiyat Freeway, UAE Contractor: Taisei (Abu Dhabi) Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Construction of 7 bridges carrying 6 lanes of traffic in each direction. 5 of the 6 bridges were constructed using over 60,000m3 Rapidshor due to speed of erection and modular nature of the system. Product training on Rapidshor and site supervision were also provided for the duration of the project.

Boggo Road Busway, Australia

The Boggo Road Busway is an elevated roadway constructed at Wooloongabba in Brisbane, it consists of 12 headstocks that are 40m long, 2.5m wide and 1.9m high with radiussed ends, approximately 7m high with a precast plank deck, and parapet. RMD Australia was contracted to design and supply the Rapidshor shoring system, Megashor shoring system, and Super Slim Soldiers.

Telfer Mine, Australia

The Telfer Gold Mine went through a $1.19 billion upgrade in recent years. Its located 485km south-east of Port Hedland, where mining is the sole industry. All levels were formed utilising 17mm plywood decking, Alform secondary bearers and Super Slim Soldier primary bearers. All suspended floor slabs were supported utilising RMD’s Rapidshor shoring system.

Contractor: DTMT Construction Location: West of Port Hedland, WA

Stacket Bridge, Sweden Contractor: Skanska Location: Stockholm, Sweden

Construction of arch suspension rail bridge was planned to span the 126 metre wide River Staksund at Staket near Stockholm. Rapidshor was used to support for the bridge arches and outer sections of the horizontal rail deck. Due to its strength, the amount of equipment required was minimised, reducing the overall weight of equipment required to support the arch.
