Reciprocating compressors are often some of the most critical systems at a production facility. Industrial facilities can expect
widely varying lifecycle costs and reliability from their own installations due to many factors like adequacy of maintenance
practices and operational factors. Thanks to the SINT Technology experience in turbomachinery performance evaluation and
automatic fault detection the RCX-Reciprocating Compressor Analyzer is now available. RCX is actually the only portable sy-
stem for reciprocating compressors analysis ATEX approved.
Analysis of cylinder pressure is one of the main ways of checking reciprocating compressor efficiency and of promptly detec-
ting abnormal behaviour, such as:

The RCX System
Due to the use of NI cRIO product it was possibile to design the RCX system to be used both as a stand alone recording sy-
stem or a user driven system. In both cases a graphical user interface provides an intuitive and software driven configuration
of the system itself.
