Pump Chambers are alternatively filled and emptied by drawing fluid in

through a common suction manifold and out through common discharge

manifold.

The diaphragms in each chamber are linked by a common shaft, so that

they move backwards and forwards in unison.

Compressed air is directed by the air valve alternatively, behind each

diaphragm, to power discharge strokes.

Pump speed, fluid output and pressure (or head) is controlled by

increasing or decreasing the flow of compressed air to the pump.

Suction Cycle:

Fluid is drawn into the Suction Manifold by the suction stroke of the

diaphragm and into Chamber.

This ‘opens’ the ball valve to allow liquid to enter the chamber.

Ball valve is drawn into the Valve Seat and ‘closed’ by the diaphragm

suction stroke.

Discharge Cycle:

In Chamber, air has been applied to the rear of the diaphragm to force

out the Fluid in the chamber through the ball valve to the Discharge

Manifold.

The discharge stroke ‘closes’ the ball valve to prevent further liquid

entering the chamber.

This cycle is repeated to provide a continuous flow to the Discharge

Manifold at outlet.

Air Operated:

• No need of electrical drive.

• Easy to buy, use and

install.

Self Priming:

• No need of priming.

• Unloading from drums/ sumps etc.

• Replaces the traditional drum

pumps

• Example: Acid and solvents (raw

material) unloading in pharma and

refineries

Seal-less Pumps:

• Zero Leakage

• Less maintenance compared to sealed

pumps

• Ideal for corrosive, abrasive,

hazardous liquids handling

• Example: Sulphuric Acid, Ink, Solvents

Can be stalled indefinitely:

• Can restart automatically when

pressure is released.

• Ideal for filling applications

• Example: Oil filling lines

Can run at wide variety of flows:

• Through air-regulator

• No need of VFD

• Example: Unloading applications

Can run dry without damage:

• No internal pump damage • Any other seal pump will have seal

failures

• Any motorized pump will have

motor damage

• In case of PC pump, the whole

pump failure

• Example: Viscous liquids/ slurries

prone to choking like fruit pulp

Low Shear:

• Low velocity and absence of tight

clearances => low shear

• Low product degradation and agitation

• Example: Paint, Emulsions, Latex

Can handle solids:

• No tight clearances

• No mechanical seals

• Example: Ceramic, waste-water

treatment

Naturally Intrinsically safe -ATEX

Approved models: • Safe for using in hazardous environment

Can operate Submerged:

• Air supply and exhaust hose will

extend to pump submerged below

• Used when lifting from tank below

is not practical

Compact and Portable:

• Not anchored to a foundation • Easy to move

• No alignment issues

• Light weight

• One pump can be used for many

intermittent services

• Example: Sludge removal from tanks
