Surah ad-Dhaariyat (The Winnowing Winds)

�� ح�يم الر� ح!من� الر� الله� � م �س! ب

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful


و&ا ذ(ر! (ات� و(الذ�ار�ي

[51:1] I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide,


ا و�ق!ر& ت� !ح(ام�ال( ف(ال

[51:2] Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space).


ا ر& 4س! ي (ات� !ج(ار�ي ف(ال

[51:3] Then those (ships) that glide easily,


ا م!ر&) أ م(ات� !م4ق(س7 ف(ال

[51:4] Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command;


(ص(اد�ق9 ل 4وع(د4ون( ت �م(ا �ن إ

[51:5] What you are threatened with is most surely true,


(و(اق�ع9 ل الد7ين( �ن� و(إ

[51:6] And the judgment must most surely come about.


4ك� ب !ح4 ال ذ(ات� م(اء و(الس�

[51:7] I swear by the heaven full of ways.


Hل�ف) ت مLخ! Hق(و!ل (ف�ي ل 4م! �ك �ن إ

[51:8] Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say,


4ف�ك( أ م(ن! !ه4 ع(ن 4ؤ!ف(ك4 ي

[51:9] He is turned away from it who would be turned away.


اص4ون( !خ(ر� ال �ل( ق4ت

[51:10] Cursed be the liars,


اه4ون( س( Hة غ(م!ر( ف�ي ه4م! �ذ�ين( ال

[51:11] Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful;


الد7ين� (و!م4 ي �ان( (ي أ 4ون( (ل أ (س! ي

[51:12] They ask: When is the day of judgment?


4ون( (ن 4ف!ت ي �ار� الن ع(ل(ى ه4م! (و!م( ي

[51:13] (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire.


�ه� ب 4م 4نت ك �ذ�ي ال ه(ذ(ا 4م! (ك (ت !ن ف�ت ذ4وق4وال4ون( (ع!ج� ت (س! ت

[51:14] Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on.


H4ون و(ع4ي Hات� ن ج( ف�ي �ق�ين( !م4ت ال �ن� إ

[51:15] Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains.


!ل( ق(ب 4وا (ان ك �ه4م! �ن إ Lه4م! ب ر( (اه4م! آت م(ا آخ�ذ�ين(�ين( ن م4ح!س� �ك( ذ(ل

[51:16] Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good.


(ه!ج(ع4ون( ي م(ا !ل� �ي الل م7ن( �يال& ق(ل 4وا (ان ك

[51:17] They used to sleep but little in the night.


ون( (غ!ف�ر4 ت (س! ي ه4م! ح(ار� (س! �األ! و(ب

[51:18] And in the morning they asked forgiveness.


�ل� ائ 7لس� ل fح(ق �ه�م! م!و(ال) أ و(ف�ي

� وم !م(ح!ر4 و(ال

[51:19] And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good).


�ين( !م4وق�ن 7ل ل (ات9 آي ر!ض�) األ! و(ف�ي

[51:20] And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure,


ون( !ص�ر4 4ب ت (ف(ال( أ 4م! ك (نف4س� أ و(ف�ي

[51:21] And in your own souls (too); will you not then see?


4وع(د4ون( ت و(م(ا 4م! ق4ك ر�ز! م(اء الس� و(ف�ي

[51:22] And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with.


fح(ق) ل �ه4 �ن إ ر!ض�) و(األ! م(اء الس� ب7 ف(و(ر((نط�ق4ون( ت 4م! �ك (ن أ م(ا !ل( م7ث

[51:23] And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do

speak.


اه�يم( !ر( �ب إ !ف� ض(ي ح(د�يث4 (اك( (ت أ ه(ل!م�ين( !ر( !م4ك ال

[51:24] Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim?


ق(ال( م&ا ال( س( 4وا ف(ق(ال !ه� (ي ع(ل 4وا ل د(خ( �ذ! إون( (ر4 مLنك ق(و!م9 م9 ال( س(

[51:25] When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people.


Hم�ين س( Hع�ج!ل� ب ف(ج(اء �ه� (ه!ل أ (ى �ل إ اغ( ف(ر(

[51:26] Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf,


4ون( 4ل !ك (أ ت (ال( أ ق(ال( !ه�م! (ي �ل إ (ه4 ب ف(ق(ر�

[51:27] So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat?


(خ(ف! ت ال( 4وا ق(ال خ�يف(ة& !ه4م! م�ن و!ج(س() ف(أ

H �يم ع(ل H م �غ4ال( ب وه4 ر4 (ش� و(ب

[51:28] So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they

gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge.


�ت! ف(ص(ك Hة ص(ر� ف�ي 4ه4 ت) أ ام!ر( (ل(ت� ق!ب

) ف(أع(ق�يم9 ع(ج4وز9 و(ق(ال(ت! و(ج!ه(ه(ا

[51:29] Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren

woman!


!ح(ك�يم4 ال ه4و( �ه4 �ن إ Lك� ب ر( ق(ال( �ك( (ذ(ل ك 4وا ق(ال�يم4 !ع(ل ال

[51:30] They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing.


4ون( ل س( !م4ر! ال Lه(ا ي) أ 4م! 4ك خ(ط!ب ف(م(ا ق(ال(

[51:31] He said: What is your affair then, O messengers!


مLج!ر�م�ين( H ق(و!م �ل(ى إ (ا !ن ل س� ر!4 أ �ا �ن إ 4وا ق(ال

[51:32] They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people,


Hط�ين م7ن ة& ح�ج(ار( !ه�م! (ي ع(ل س�ل( 4ر! �ن ل

[51:33] That we may send down upon them stone of clay,


ر�ف�ين( !م4س! �ل ل 7ك( ب ر( ع�ند( و�م(ة& م4س(

[51:34] Sent forth from your Lord for the extravagant.


�ين( !م4ؤ!م�ن ال م�ن( ف�يه(ا (ان( ك م(ن (ا ن ج! (خ!ر( ف(أ

[51:35] Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers.


م7ن( Hت! (ي ب !ر( غ(ي ف�يه(ا (ا و(ج(د!ن ف(م(ا�م�ين( ل !م4س! ال

[51:36] But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims).


(خ(اف4ون( ي �ذ�ين( 7ل ل (ة& آي ف�يه(ا (ا !ن ك (ر( و(ت�يم( (ل األ! !ع(ذ(اب( ال

[51:37] And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.


ع(و!ن( ف�ر! �ل(ى إ (اه4 !ن ل س( ر!) أ �ذ! إ م4وس(ى و(ف�ي

Hين� مLب Hل!ط(ان �س4 ب

[51:38] And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority.


4ون9 ن م(ج! و!) أ اح�ر9 س( و(ق(ال( �ه� !ن ك �ر4 ب �ى (و(ل ف(ت

[51:39] But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man.


(م7 !ي ال ف�ي (اه4م! (ذ!ن (ب ف(ن 4ود(ه4 ن و(ج4 (اه4 (خ(ذ!ن ف(أ�يم9 م4ل و(ه4و(

[51:40] So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable.


يح( الر7 !ه�م4 (ي ع(ل (ا !ن ل س( ر!) أ �ذ! إ Hع(اد و(ف�ي

!ع(ق�يم( ال

[51:41] And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind.


!ه4 (ت ج(ع(ل �ال� إ !ه� (ي ع(ل (ت! (ت أ Hء ي! ش( م�ن (ذ(ر4 ت م(ا

� م�يم (الر� ك

[51:42] It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes.


ح(ت�ى �ع4وا (م(ت ت (ه4م! ل ق�يل( �ذ! إ (م4ود( ث و(ف�ي

Hح�ين

[51:43] And in Thamud: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while.


!ه4م4 (خ(ذ(ت ف(أ 7ه�م! ب ر( م!ر�) أ ع(ن! (و!ا ف(ع(ت

ون( (نظ4ر4 ي و(ه4م! الص�اع�ق(ة4

[51:44] But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling

overtook them while they saw.


4وا (ان ك و(م(ا H (ام ق�ي م�ن (ط(اع4وا ت اس! ف(م(ا(ص�ر�ين( م4نت

[51:45] So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves-


ق(و!م&ا 4وا (ان ك �ه4م! �ن إ !ل4 ق(ب م7ن H4وح ن و(ق(و!م(ق�ين( ف(اس�

[51:46] And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people.


ع4ون( (م4وس� ل �ا �ن و(إ Hد! ي) �أ ب (اه(ا !ن (ي (ن ب م(اء و(الس�

[51:47] And the heaven, We raised it high with power, and most surely We are the makers of

things ample.


!م(اه�د4ون( ال �ع!م( ف(ن (اه(ا ن ش! ف(ر( ر!ض() و(األ!

[51:48] And the earth, We have made it a wide extent; how well have We then spread (it) out.


4م! �ك (ع(ل ل !ن� ي و!ج( ز( (ا (ق!ن ل خ( Hي!ء ش( 4ل7 ك و(م�نون( �ر4 (ذ(ك ت

[51:49] And of everything We have created pairs that you may be mindful.


(ذ�ير9 ن !ه4 م7ن 4م (ك ل 7ي �ن إ �ه� الل �ل(ى إ وا Lف(ف�ر�ين9 مLب

[51:50] Therefore fly to Allah, surely I am a plain warner to you from Him.


(ك4م ل 7ي �ن إ آخ(ر( (ه&ا �ل إ �ه� الل م(ع( 4وا (ج!ع(ل ت و(ال(�ين9 مLب (ذ�ير9 ن !ه4 م7ن

[51:51] And do not set up with Allah another god: surely I am a plain warner to you from Him.


م7ن �ه�م !ل ق(ب م�ن �ذ�ين( ال (ى (ت أ م(ا �ك( (ذ(ل ك4ون9 ن م(ج! و!) أ اح�ر9 س( 4وا ق(ال �ال� إ Hس4ول ر�

[51:52] Thus there did not come to those before them a messenger but they said: A magician or a

mad man.


ط(اغ4ون( ق(و!م9 ه4م! (ل! ب �ه� ب (و(اص(و!ا ت) أ

[51:53] Have they charged each other with this? Nay! they are an inordinate people.


H 4وم �م(ل ب (نت( أ ف(م(ا !ه4م! ع(ن (و(ل� ف(ت

[51:54] Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame;


�ين( !م4ؤ!م�ن ال (نف(ع4 ت ى !ر( الذ7ك �ن� ف(إ 7ر! و(ذ(ك

[51:55] And continue to remind, for surely the reminder profits the believers.


4د4ون� (ع!ب �ي ل �ال� إ �نس( و(اإل! !ج�ن� ال (ق!ت4 ل خ( و(م(ا

[51:56] And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve Me.


(ن أ ر�يد44 أ و(م(ا Hق ز! ر7 م7ن !ه4م م�ن ر�يد4

4 أ م(ا4ط!ع�م4ون� ي

[51:57] I do not desire from them any sustenance and I do not desire that they should feed Me.


�ين4 !م(ت ال !ق4و�ة� ال ذ4و اق4 ز� الر� ه4و( �ه( الل �ن� إ

[51:58] Surely Allah is the Bestower of sustenance, the Lord of Power, the Strong.


4وب� ذ(ن !ل( م7ث &ا 4وب ذ(ن (م4وا ظ(ل �ذ�ين( �ل ل �ن� ف(إ4ون� ل (ع!ج� ت (س! ي ف(ال( �ه�م! اب ص!ح(

) أ

[51:59] So surely those who are unjust shall have a portion like the portion of their companions, therefore let them not ask Me to hasten on.


�ذ�ي ال (و!م�ه�م4 ي م�ن وا (ف(ر4 ك �ذ�ين( 7ل ل !ل9 ف(و(ي4وع(د4ون( ي

[51:60] Therefore woe to those who disbelieve because of their day which they are threatened

with.
