There are high mountains, green forests and plains, wonderful lakes and rivers, deep canyons and waterfalls in America. America can be called the country of the most outstanding things. One can find here the first highest building, the biggest city, the most famous statue in the world. Would you like to see some of the wonders of America? Lets go! 3. Washington is the capital of the USA. It isnt the largest city, but it is very beautiful and has many attractions. There is the Capitol and the White House there. In the Capitol the Congress works and in the White House the President lives. Tourists come here to watch the Pencil, which is an attraction, too. 4. The White House today White House Complex includes the Executive Residence (in which the First Family resides), the West Wing (the location of the Oval Office, Cabinet Room, and Roosevelt Room), and the East Wing (the location of the office of the First Lady and White House Social Secretary), as well as the Old Executive Office Building, which houses the executive offices of the President and Vice President. There are 132 rooms in the White House but the visitors can see only some of them on the first floor. The President and his family lives in the second floor. The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States. It was built between 1792 and 1800. It was built in honor of George Washington, the first President of the USA. The Monument is shaped like an Egyptian obelisk, stands 555 5 1/8 tall, and offers views in excess of thirty miles. It was finished on December 6, 1884. The Monument stands as the dominant skyline feature of the Federal City and provides incomparable views of the city and surrounding area. 6. The most widely recognized symbol of American democracy, the U.S. Capitol building houses the Congress. The Capitol contains more than 500 rooms in addition to the massive House and Senate chambers. Outside, in the shadow of its magnificent dome, Presidents of The United States take their inaugural oath, and they return to the Capitol to deliver their annual State of the Union message. State funerals and other ceremonies take place within the Rotunda, and foreign leaders frequently visit the Capitol to address joint sessions of Congress. The Capitol building is marked by its central dome. It is an example of the neoclassical architecture style. The statue on top of the dome is the Statue of Freedom. 7. There is no city quite like New York. It is known as The City That Never Sleeps. There are thousands of things to do and places to visit for tourists. The most famous landmarks must be The Statue of Liberty - a symbol of freedom and The Empire State Building. 8. Located on a 12 acre island, the Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States and is a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886, designated as a National Monument in 1924 and restored for her centennial on July 4, 1986. I wonder if it is something inside the Statue of Liberty! The pedestal houses the Statue of Liberty exhibit where you can see the original torch mounted in 1886. Also at the museum inside the Statue of Liberty is the sonnet "New Colossus which was written by Emma Lazarus in 1883. 9. Empire State Building is a New York City Landmark and a National Historic Landmark. It soars more than a quarter of a mile into the atmosphere above the heart of Manhattan. The building a variety of activities for its visitors. One can tour the Observatory 365 days per year for breathtaking views of Manhattan and beyond. 10. Los Angeles is very big, noisy and famous all over the world because there is Hollywood there. In Hollywood American films are made. And near Los Angeles there is wonderful fairy land called Disneyland. In Disneyland you can see the characters from Walt Disneys films. Hollywood is a district in Los Angeles, situated west-northwest of the centre of Los Angeles. Here one can find a lot of film studios. Many famous actors work in Hollywood and one can see their names on the Hollywood- walk-of-fame. Many historic Hollywood theaters are used as venues and concert stages to premiere major theatrical releases and host the Academy Awards. It is a popular destination for nightlife and tourism. 11. Who says Disneyland is only for kids? There is the new park next door, Disney's California Adventure, and Downtown Disney, an outdoor mall with dining and shopping. Disneyland has become a great destination for grownups, too. Disneyland, a popular theme park of entertainment of "The Walt Disney Company", was opened on 17th July 1955. It is the very first Disneyland in the world, the realization of Walt Disneys dream about an entertainment park where children and adults could have a good time. It is a magic world of cartoons and fairy tales where Mickey Mouse and his friends live and where miracles wait for you all over the place.
