Those who do not want to be a fan he could care less about that, in contrast those who are actively involved with his career and even smaller fans he is very loving and engages with the fans often through twitter and facebook.

Blake Shelton uses online social media sites to keep in contact with his fans and to inform them of upcoming events and dates. He also likes to show his personality through social media, which fans love. As a fan of Blake Shelton I thoroughly enjoy his sometime inappropriate but hilarious tweets. It gives fans and his audience an opportunity to feel like they know him more personally rather than just an artist whose music they enjoy.

He also is very vocal about drinking, which in some people’s eyes could be a bad thing but also that is his personality. He jokes about being drunk and drinking a lot, but that’s the persona he has built for himself.

I think with the help of the voice Blake is very effective with both online and physical spaces. On his hit reality TV show he is able to connect with other singers as well as fans of the show and with his music he has another fan base that he continues to engage with through performances, tours and award shows. Also if you look on Blake’s official website they have a page that is all about Meet & Greet, which gives fans the opportunity to physically be around Blake Shelton. Most artists do engage physically with their fans this way so I believe it is effective. The difference that separates artists is how they interact online, where Blake Shelton has been very effective.

4. Continue social push push IRL. Hand out swag. Put up flyers

Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are the best ways that Blake Shelton engages with his audience. He consistently is posting updates about his TV show, tour dates and even more personal comments. Most recently is The Voice season 6 premier but upcoming he has a big festival in Canada called Boots & Hearts as well as the CMA festival which if you’re keeping track of his social media, he will be posting lots of updates about those upcoming events. Also he tweets live during The Voice shows to keep in contact with fans and to help his artists be successful in the show.
