How we interacted with our audienceWe produced a survey for 7 boys and 7 girls of the age between 15 – 25, so we can gain an insight into what our audience would expect from our film.

These are some examples of the participants response sheets, which all helped us to create a film to fulfil the audiences’ needs.

We attracted our Audience via YouTube

We put on series of drafts of our film on to YouTube so that our audience can view and analyse our film.

How we attracted the audience via mise en scene

To attract the audience we used mise en scene to portray our character to wear clothes you would usually associate with a teenage boy. The clothes my character is wearing is similar to Silva of the ‘Wanted’ who are very popular among our audience.

The reason for emulating the ‘Wanted’ in terms of mise en scene, is because they portray a mainstream image, shown from their music constantly being in the charts and on mainstream station such as Kiss 100. Also our film would be most likely to be shown at mainstream plus, as this will bring in a substantially greater crowd.

Main stream station which the wanted are on

The wanted at a mainstream even the ‘Brit awards’

This is a mainstream cinema which would be most likeable cinema to exhibit our film. Which will help us gross the most money.

Creating humour through sound for the audience

The dialogue from the character of Ben portrays humour to the audience because it reveals his unreliable and doesn't fit our average alpha male.

“Arr you kidding me”“arr.” “ohh.”

This attracted our audience because as our audience are mainstream hence the target audience is 14 – 25.

audience, so we applied similar dialogue of this character so we can gain popularity of our character to attract audience.

This is a character of Harry Potter, who is severely popular among the target

How we attracted our audience via editing

We attracted our audience through the ‘time lapse shot’. What we done is, filmed outside the window for about an hour. Then we converted it via ‘Final cut pro’, so the clip was now a duration of 10 seconds. This created the effect that time was passing, which created tension. This portrays our convention of a horror, being suspense and tension.

How we attracted our film via Cinematography

This picture reveals the emotion of the character, which creates tension amongst the audience because the emotions are emulated to the audience, with them sitting up against the chair waiting for what's going to happen next

This picture also shows of various camera angle, this shot being a ‘close up’ which would be attracting for the audience as our target audience need to be excited through series of shots.

This shot also develops the narrative, as it is clear to see through Aimee's expression, which ties into the convention of a horror, being a vulnerable victim.

This shot also applies the rule of thirds.

How we attracted the audience via narrative

This picture establishes the narrative as it reveals the two characters being a vulnerable victim, and a cold hearted victim. Which applies the conventions of a horror.

This establishes that the story which Aimee mentioned earlier in the film about the masked villain is relevant to our film, which makes the villain a lot more sinister when we see him as we already know what he is capable of, creating suspense.

This picture also symbolizes the significance of the setting, that this is this is the villains lair and this is where the rest of his ferocious acts will take place.

This portrays the alpha male dominance and the womans dependence. Which is effective as we left the film on a cliff hanger, leaving the audience with the inevitable thought that she will die.
