Mise-en-scene All The Small Things • Frequent change in costume - usually costumes that have been worn by well known artists of the pop genre e.g. Backstreet Boys. • Use of props that have been seen in other music videos e.g. a telescope that was used in the Britney Spears video. • Use of typical pop/r ’n’ b storylines - love, relationships, losing someone. • Location used – Airplane hangar, beach, rehearsal room, bathroom – again all typical • Use of things such as water and air machines – usually used in pop videos. • When themselves – in band t-shirts, brightly coloured instruments, surrounded by fans and people featured in the video. • For the video of ‘All the small things’ the mise-en-scene is vital for positioning the audience.

Save It For The Bedroom• Only location is the set of a TV chat programme• Setting is based on the design of the Jeremy Kyle Show. • Emphasised/dramatised stories such as ‘is my son a hoodie?’• Use of band members to play all the characters regardless of gender• Use of a ‘live audience’ – make video setting more realistic• When playing ‘live’ – wearing own clothes and again playing quite brightly coloured instruments• However, lead singers outfit still emphasises the main idea of the video through the slogan ‘REAL’• At end of video all props and setting used is destroyed by the band members.

Poppin’ (Champagne)• Extremely brightly coloured and individual clothes worn all the way through.• However, clothes worn for live shots are own clothes• Location is a club which is then transformed into a stage for the live shots• Use of animals such as ferrets and many people in background• Also use of a limo and bouncer to make the video seem much more realistic
