My Top 10 ActressesWow what a surprise that after my little thing about 10

favourite actors I've decided to do 10 favourite actresses - what a surprise!! Actually i have been surprised looking for

actresses to fit into this category at how little films still feature a male protagonist, isn't the film world sexist. Anyway

here we go

10. Amanda Seyfried

I'll be the first to admit that not all of her films are great, just look at my review of Red Riding Hood which was a shame as it was one of her first leading roles. I think you just need to watch her first film role in my ultimate guilty pleasure, Mean Girls, to fall in love with her harmless and adorable character. In fact the reason i think Seyfried is her roles i guilty pleasure films with her breakthrough into lead roles coming as one of the main characters in Mamma Mia, yeah i like Mamma Mia get over it!! I've also been to where to was shot if anyone's interested beautiful island, really worth a visit, hang on I'm babbling again, i really should get back to what i was saying. Anyway since then she's mainly been a rom com girl but showed her relative versatility in Jennifer's Body.

This list is starting to look like a homage to Mean Girls but I promise this is the last one. McAdams was the ultimate Mean Girl in the film and like Seyfried was just finding her feet in the industry when the teen flick was released. McAdams was soon achieving leading lady status in The Notebook (which I haven't actually seen) and 'horror' film Red Eye. She hasn't exactly been prolific in making films and The Time Travellers Wife looks atrocious but McAdams made up for a film like that by starring in the reboot of Sherlock Holmes where she managed to stand out despite limited screen time and her reappearance in the sequel was much welcomed but disappointed at her sudden exit from the film. Also did you know she's dating Michael Sheen?

There is a theme of American actresses who appear in High School comedies emerging, but it seems that is one of the best ways to get attention in America. Now i think Morris, who if you didn't know is Brittany in Glee (i have mentioned I'm a little bit addicted before), is brilliant but the problem is she hasn't done much to prove her acting skill yet probably because she never wanted to be an actor. Originally a dancer, back up for Beyoncé no less, she grabbed a back up role on Glee and has since probed herself as comic genius with her one liners and there's no doubting she can perform, just watch the Brittney/Brittany episode and you'll see what a i mean. Hopefully Morris can soon prove she can act either on Glee or in her post Glee career.

8. Heather Morris

Another member of the list who has only really has one major role, although that role is rather major with 8 big bucks film roles over 10 years. Watson has ended coming up leaving the Harry Potter franchise, yes she was Hermione, as the serious breakout star of the series. You never know how a child actor will turn out and although her two co-stars proved to be capable actors it's clear watching the later films that it is Watson who holds most of talent in the trio. She seems perfectly suited to the role that dominated her childhood and will probably haunt her future as she tries to breakaway from been knowing as that girl out of Harry Potter. Hopefully Watson has enough talent to do that and if not I'm sure she has enough money to live on by now.

Like her Muppets co-star Jason Segal, Amy Adams is one of Hollywood's most likable figures. Her films don't exactly scream greatness, although she deserved all the praise and nominations she received for The Fighter, but like Adams herself there's something about them you can't stop falling in love with. She really made her name with a leading role in one of Disney's recent hits Enchanted, in fact it would seem Adams could be Disney's perfect poster girl. She was one of the highlights of the playful Night at the Museum 2 and was one of the only good things about Leap Year. She seems the perfect female lead for The Muppets (expect for Miss Piggy of course) and i hope she will be able to build on the success she will surely get for Man of Steel.

Most of this list is American so I'm glad that Egerton means I've added at least one more British name to it. She'd nowhere near a household name but it's always nice to be a fan of someone who isn't on the big stage yet. Egerton is really representing the 4 leads of British flick 4.3.2.1 here which is superb cast lead film. Other then that she's not really done too much as a leading lady. She had a minor role in Driving Lesson's and was very much support in the St Trinions films. 2011 was a reasonably good year for her appearing in American TV's Camelot, although she was one of the only positives in the cancelled show. She also appeared in one of her best roles in Chalet Girl fitting perfectly into her usual spoilt brat role. Still likable though…

5. Tamsin Egerton

As appose to the previous entry Emma Stone is pretty much near the top of the acting world at the moment. I can never remember not enjoying a Stone film and they seem to keep getting better. She was underused in Superbad and then became one of the best things about The House Bunny. But the real moment i realised that she was really going to go right to the top was when she appeared in the brilliant Zomebieland, one of the best casting in a film since Lord of the Rings. She then took a major lead in Easy A a performance that earned Stone much deserved critical recognition. 2011 was a huge role for Stone but i have yet to see any of her 3 releases but need to see all 3. This girls going to be big, well probably even bigger then she is now!

What is it with Jason Segal and picking great actresses to appear opposite him? I talk of course about her role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall a performance that surely would win over any viewer. Ever since Kunis has been slowly rising up through the film world. She's one of the most recognisable voices in America after her long running role on Family Guy, that i don't actually watch just thought most people seem too ... Her role in The Book of Eli has the potential to make her a star but the film was a disappointment but then after a great cameo appearance in Date Night, Kunis soon made her way into the spotlight with her supporting role in Black Swan which threatened to steal the spotlight away from Oscar winner Natalie Portman (who almost made it to this list) and made Kunis a household name. Surely there's more too come.

3. Mila Kunis

Now Glee ain't exactly the sort of programme where you'd find great acting talent but in Miss Rivera they have discovered a huge talent. Like Heather Morris, Naya was originally hired to be a back up character on the show and also like Morris has been risen to become one of the stars of the show. She has had an history on American TV as a child actor appearing on shows like Baywatch and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. After she finally got to speak on the show her Glee character Santana seemed to be a fairly two-dimensional bitch but after gaining main cast status in season 2 and finally getting some proper storylines, season 3 has made proved to be her year, becoming the star, with a superb and touching performance with a coming out story. Hopefully she can turn her success to the big screen next, and as mentioned before it will be a crime if she doesn't bag the role of Johanna in Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire.

Speaking of The Hunger Games I don't think it'll be a surprise to anyone who's been here before to know that Jennifer Lawrence is my favourite actress. She's not been around long but with her first starring role in Winter's Bone she managed to make herself the 2nd youngest Best Actress nominee in Oscar history, yeah the girls talented. There's no doubting the performance is incredible and made her the perfect choice for Katniss in the fore mentioned Games. You could of forgiven her for staying in the indie game, especially after a great performance in The Beaver. But she has ended up in main stream Hollywood and her first major blockbuster role managed to bring a whole new side to the character of Mystique in prequel X-Men First Class. Bring on The Hunger Games and everything else this girl can do.
