MANAGER'S MEETING 3.

  • Roles and Duties of Intramural Team Managers
  • Be responsible for your actions and the actions of all your teammates
  • Understand all the relevant intramural policies and rules as found in theIntramural Handbook.
  • To communicate all these policies and rules to your teammates
  • Inform any ejected players that they need to leave the facility and ofhow they will be reinstated

MANAGER'S MEETING 4.

  • Player Eligibility
  • All registered students are eligible to play
    • Undergraduate, graduate and law students
  • Players may only play on one 1 team per semester
    • One team in each sport in each division (1 open and 1 co-rec)
  • Club Sport Rules:
    • Only three club sport players may be on a single team roster
  • Ex-Varsity Athletes:
    • must sit out a year and a team can only have one on a team

MANAGER'S MEETING 5.

  • Roster Additions
  • All roster additions must be done online by 3:00pm the day of the game
    • For weekend games, players must be added by 3:00pm Friday
    • Online form is at www.campusrec.neu.edu/intramurals/rosterAdd.php
  • Drop players online using the player removal form
    • You may not drop a player who has already played on your team
  • Online rosters:
    • Found at www.campusrec.neu.edu/intramurals/rosterAdd.php
    • List indicates the players on the team and players not eligible for play

MANAGER'S MEETING 6.

  • The Captains Rule
  • Only the captain my clarify calls with the officials
    • If the team has questions or issues, they need to direct them through theCaptain to the officials
    • Captain may question rule interpretations but not judgment calls
  • Players who are not the Captain who argue or question the officials willreceive an unsportsmanlike penalty

MANAGER'S MEETING 7.

  • The Intramural Managers Handbook
  • Can be found online in the Managers Information section of the website
  • Manager must know all relevant policies and communicate them totheir team
  • Especially important are the policies regarding sportsmanship andejections
    • Note that 3 unsportsmanlike penalties will end a contest in forfeit
    • Fighting/taunting or specific violations of the code of conduct will result in a forfeit

MANAGER'S MEETING 8.

  • Jewelry Policy
  • Jewelry is not allowed to be worn by any intramural sports participants
  • If a player is found to be wearing jewelry during a game they will beassessed an unsportsmanlike penalty
  • Exceptions: religious and medical items
    • Must be approved by the Director of Spiritual Life and the Intramural Directorat least 5 days prior to the scheduled contest.

MANAGER'S MEETING 9.

  • The Regular Season
  • Regular season games will not be rescheduled
  • Losing By Default:
    • If a team can not play and contacts the intramural department to indicate this, they will loose by default
    • Team will not lose the forfeit bond
    • Must be made 24 hours in advance via email
  • Playoffs:
    • Usually the top two teams of each league will advance to the playoffs
    • If two teams are tied in the standings the following will be used to determine who will advance:
      • Sportsmanship
      • Forfeited games
      • Head to head record
      • Point differential
      • If there is still a tie, a coin toss will determine the winner

MANAGER'S MEETING 10.

  • Forfeits
  • All teams must pay a $20 forfeit bond
  • Teams will lose $10 for every forfeit
  • 2 team forfeits will result in the team being removed from the leagueand total loss of the forfeit bond
  • Unused bonds will be refunded 2-3 weeks after the conclusionof the season
  • Game time is forfeit time
    • It is recommended that teams show up 15 minutes before game time to avoid a forfeit

MANAGER'S MEETING 11.

  • Intramural Code of Conduct
  • 3 unsportsmanlike penalties will result in the termination of the game
  • Ejected players must leave the facility within five minutes or their teamwill forfeit
  • Players who have been ejected must meet with the Intramural Directoror an appointed official before they may participate in further intramuralcompetitions
