PROJECT PITCH FOR DIGIPAK AND MAGAZINE ADVERTBy Carl Ward
Research into similar products(Magazines)
Mumford and Sons Magazine advert:
- Advert for the album Sigh No More.
- Fits in with our folk genre.
- Appeals to audience due to Mumford and Sons logo.
- Images fit in with folk genre.
Noah and the Whale Magazine advert
- Advert for the album The First Days of Spring.
- Also fits in with our folk genre.
- Appeals to audience due to name of group in large writing.
- Colours fit in with genre.
Both adverts have a vintage feel (another representation of folk)
My ideas for a magazine advert
As I am not very good at drawing here is a basic idea for an outline of a magazine advert for a digipak. However, I would do a few things differently.
Digipak name
Release date
Band name
Digipak cover
Background
Features on digipak
Possible retailers
Possible record label
My design for a magazine advert for a digipak.
Digipak research
Though this digipak isn’t really related to our chosen genre of folk, it was still helpful to look at.
This digipak is more related to our genre as it has a vintage sort of look.
My Digipak ideas (cover)
Band nameImage of group or something related to
the album name*
Album name
Idea 1:
Band name Background is
the main image (maybe a drawing or photography of nature/something that relates to album*)
Album Name
Idea 2:
*It will be something to do with nature such as trees.
Another idea is, an image of the band in nature.
My Digipak ideas (inside)
Actual CD
Group live and making ofComments
from critics saying how good the group is
Eg. Folk news
Sleeve containing a booklet that includes images of the band, lyrics, and comments from the band.
I was thinking of having the background looking like a blue sky
For the actual disks, I would like to put an image of tree tops reaching the sky
My Digipak ideas (back of casing)
COVER
Image pageA part where the
audience can appreciate the
artwork/photography for the case
This page will have a song
listing.
The background image for the back of the digipak will be the same image as the front cover.
Practise of filming
This is a video of both me and josh lip syncing, though one of the aims of the
task was to practise lip syncing, we used it as an opportunity to practise our filming
(we used different shots)
