Shifty opening sequence analysis

This is the first shot of the sequence, there is a male sitting on his own on a coach, the shot is quite long being at 7 seconds and is quite shaky so is probably

taken using a handheld camera.

This shot introduces us to the character, he is wearing a yellow top and black jacket and staring out the window with headphones in his ears. There is no

diegetic sound, just a non-diegetic soundtrack.

This shot shows the setting- blocks of flats in a run down area.

This shot introduces the second character and their name ‘shifty’, while he wears all black and is walking away from the large block of flats.

This is the first shot that you get that hints towards the main theme- drugs, the birds-eye-view shot shows little of the setting only a sofa and table which

makes you ask questions like who is this new character and what does he have to do with the storyline etc. The character is wearing a green jumper and jeans.
