The plot of the movie revolves around the technological marvel and the ultimate superweapon that can stay in the orbit and kill millions of innocents at a time and not the main characters of the movie.

Industrial Light & Magic planned a slight upgrade on the Helicarrier in the avengers which is about 25% larger than its predecessors. One of the biggest challenges in creating this model which took more than a year was to make the surveillance dome sit in the carrier so it doesn’t seem like a pregnant underbelly. But with the CG environments and destruction, they had to use only one or two of the carriers at a time. Not to mention the V Ray that came in handy during the integration of the highly complex shots.

The apes and their performance are central to the story of this movie. It was the extremely believable movements of these characters that lent this movie its charm. To make this possible, Andy Serkis who is synonymous with the ground breaking movie technique of motion capture was brought on board. The story of the Guardians of the Galaxy revolves around five unlikely characters more specifically criminals who take on the task of saving the universe from the fanatical bad guy.

Groot and Rocket, two of the main characters of the five had to be created, one being a tree and the other a genetically modified raccoon like creature. Groot was brought to life using a mime dressed in a blue body suit and a mask that outlined the characters facial features. But was the emotional connection that these two characters bring about with every action sequence and choice they make that lends the movie a lot of the charm that it holds.

One is when Smaug attacked the lake town and the second is the detailed building of the fire effects simulations.
