INTRODUCTION • An earthquake is what

happens when two blocks of the earth suddenly slip past one another. The surface where they slip is called the fault or fault plane. The location below the earth’s surface where the earthquake starts is called the hypocenter, and the location directly above it on the surface of the earth is called the epicenter.

TRAPPED IN NEPAL

• A strong (7.8) earthquake hit Nepal in the area near Barpak, a mountain village between capital Kathmandu and tourist town Pokhara. The earthquake was followed by many powerful aftershocks and a very powerful one (6.7) hit Nepal on Sunday April 26.

• The earthquakes caused extensive damage to buildings and thousands of deaths and injuries and was even felt in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

• Many Historic buildings collapsed, temples have been ruined, roads destroyed. Nearly 8000 deaths in Nepal and tens of deaths in India & Tibet. The Quake was followed by more then 300 aftershocks and another huge earthquake (6.8) on May 12.

Short-term (immediate) impacts

People may be killed or injured. Homes may be destroyed. Transport and communication links may be disrupted. Water pipes may burst and water supplies may be contaminated.

Shops and business may be destroyed. Looting may take place. The damage to transport and communication links can make trade difficult.

The built landscape may be destroyed. Fires can spread due to gas pipe explosions. Fires can damage areas of woodland. Landslides may occur. Tsunamis may cause flooding in coastal areas.

Long-term impacts

Disease may spread. People may have to be re-housed, sometimes in refugee camps.

The cost of rebuilding a settlement is high. Investment in the area may be focused only on repairing the damage caused by the earthquake. Income could be lost.

Important natural and human landmarks may be lost.

• Even a few seconds of warning can enable protective actions such as:

• Public: Citizens, including schoolchildren, drop, cover, and hold on; turn off stoves, safely stop vehicles.

• Businesses: Personnel move to safe locations, automated systems ensure elevators doors open, production lines are shut down, sensitive equipment is placed in a safe mode.

• Medical services: Surgeons, dentists, and others stop delicate procedures.

• Emergency responders: Open firehouse doors, personnel prepare and prioritize response decisions.

• Power infrastructure: Protect power stations and grid facilities from strong shaking.

• The One of the effects of Global worming is Earthquakes.

• The Earthquakes is not predicted . They come any point of time in any big change in the environments. So for that all ways ready to face and help the others.

• In Nepal many NGOs are working for help as well as some other country's all so providing help to people .

CONCLUSION

• To Environments are effecting more by Humans so they getting a outputs like Flood , Earthquakes , Landslide, Tsunami, Glacier , etc.

• A Global worming is a big challenge for Humans because not aware about so it may be late to survive in earth.

• Landslide in India & then a Massive Earthquakes in Nepal is challenge for humans .
