MUSIC VIDEO PRESENTATIONBy Liam White and Daniel Oehme-Steer

Page 2: Music video presentation

We originally came up with the concept of our music video after being inspired by the ‘Bliss n Esso – My life’ music video. We watch a lot of BMX and Mountain Bike edits on YouTube which has helped us decide to base the music video off someone who has fallen off there bike and hurts themselves quite badly, then gaining back strength to then later do the jump again. Also amongst that there are people not landing things and hurting them self’s quite bad.

How you came up with your idea?

Dan done a lot of the filming for the getting fit part but Matt Holley done the filming for the skate park clips. We didn’t use many props only the ones we could find in the school hall, which included props such as a tennis ball and different fitness exercises we found around the gym.

Who did what during filming? (who was the director, who was in charge of props, who sorted the equipment, who took photos etc)

How did you get on as a team?

We got on well as a team because it was only 2 of us and we both had same ideas on what we wanted our music video to look like.

We had some problems with filming the main bit because one of our bikes broke and we couldn’t fix it in time for our deadline.

What pre-production did you do and how did this help you when you were filming?

We watched a lot of music videos to see what other people had done, and this helped a lot with angles for filming and how to time the clips with the music it’s self.

Compare key scenes from your storyboards to screen shots from (one) of your final videos – how do they compare? Did you achieve what you planned

The original idea of the shot was to get the rider (Dan) to be walking/riding into the skate park, showing nerves and fear. I think that we showed this in our video really well and overall I am pleased with the outcome of the video.

How did the editing go – did you learn anything new?

The editing went very well, even though we were rushed with editing due to not getting the shots and clips we had hoped for. Also we learnt how to blank out swear words in our video due to not finding a ‘clean’ version of the song, but in the end we finished it by the deadline and we are pleased with that we have achieved. The editing went very good, we were rushed with editing and

a bit stuck at one point because we didn’t have all the clips. But in the end we finished it by the deadline and it was good.

Overall are you pleased with your group work and videos?

Overall the  video turned out better than expected and was a lot easier working in a group of 2 because  we had more control of what happened and who was doing what where as if we had a larger group we wouldn’t have got as much work done.
