HOKKAIDO• Hokkaido is the second largest, northenmost and least developed of Japan’s four main islands• With its unspoiled nature, Hokkaido attracts may outdoor lovers, like skiers, snowboarders, hikers, and campers from June to Semptember.

NISEKO – Leading snow resort with lots of powder snow.

SAPPORO- Largest city on the island of Hokkaido

SHIRETOKO-National park on a unspoiled Peninsula

FOODS IN HOKKAIDO Hokkaido is one of the Northern island’s biggest attraction. Especially the high quality “seafood” caught in its’s cold waters and agricultural products in the farmlands.

2. RAMEN

Ramen is a noodle soup dish that ghas its origin in CHINA, but it was imported to Japan during the Meiji Period (1868-1912) and then Japanized.

HONSHUHonshu is the largest island of Japan. Housing the great majority of its population and hosting most of the visitors as well. Due to its size it is commonly subdivided into smaller regions.NIKKO•One of the most popular daytrips from tokyo and among Japan best known tourist attraction. • The main attraction is the Toshogu Shrine built in the 17th century as a maosuleum piece for the founder of Shogunate.

FOODS IN HONSHU

Sushi is the most famous Japanese dish outside Japanese dish outside of Japan, and one of the most popular dishes among the Japanese themselves.

• During the Edo period, “Sushi” refered to pickled fish preserved in vinegar.• Sushi is enjoyed on special occasions, such as a celebration.

FOODS IN SHIKOKU• There are lots of mountains in Shikoku and not much that land. Those mountains act a barriers and individual regions have developed a unique and deep-rooted food culture as result.

NOODLES

SANUKI UDON- Known for the firm texture of the noodles

TOKUSHIMA RAMEN- features a strongly flavored soup that would enable one to finish a serving of rice without anything else.

SEAFOOD

KATSUO NO TATAKI- A dish made by grilling the surface of a piece of bonito tuna over a strawfire, slicing it and serving it with splash of broth .

FRUITS

It’s not common knowledge, but citrus fruits are widely produced on Shikoku

KYUSHU

• Kyushu with its mild climate, has earned the title “FOOD ISLAND” by producing one fifth of Japan’s agricultural goods, including a wide variety of foods with high nutritional and health value.

TAKACHIHO•Is a town in Northern Miyazaki Perfecture that is steeped in Japanese Mythology. •Supposed site of the legend where the Shinto Sun goddess , disturbed by her brothers cruel pranks•Takachiho is known as “power spot” a place of profound religious importa nt natural beauty.

FOODS IN KYUSHU

SHOCHU- is a type of distilled liquor made from wheat rice, sweet potatoes and other ingredients to create of flavors ranging from light and vodka like to strong and similar whiskey. Kyushu Sochu is renowned worldwide and in recent years has become especially popular throughout the various countries of Southeast Asia.
