RAMADAN IN OTTOMAN EMPIRE
In Ottoman Empire period, people would fast and eat twice a day one iftar (dinner), the other sahur(breakfast); and people wouldn’t eat or drink anything between sahur and iftar
In iftar, people would start eating with several kinds of cheese, olives, jams, pastrami (a kind of bacon), date and Pide (a kind of bread eaten during Ramadan); then they ate soup

After soup people ate meat, vegetable, fish in more than 40 plates
The most important dessert of Ramadan was Güllac

Also, in Ottoman Palace food was given to all poor people who came to eat
