DESCRIPTION

Riding a bike is easy, right? Well did you know 17,000 cyclists are killed or injured in reported road accidents each year? 80% of accidents happen in daylight. And 20% of them to children. Around 50% of cyclist fatalities occur on rural roads. 16% are hit and run. And 75% happen at or near a road junction. All kinds of vehicles can cause serious cycling accidents, including other cyclists. And we still have one of the best safety rankings in Europe. Surprised? Then stay extra safe on your bike. Don't ride too close to the curb where you're vulnerable to drain covers, pedestrians and overtaking vehicles. And take care with what you wear. A helmet, gloves and sunglasses will protect your body. And lights, reflectors and reflective clothing will keep you visible to other road users. HAPPY CYCLING!
