Individuals who are on Medicare may be eligible for health care treatments in their home if the services are considered necessary for the treatment of their injury or illness and meet certain eligibility criteria. Medicare home health care is generally less expensive and just as effective as treatments performed at a hospital or skilled nursing care facility and so it makes perfect economic sense for the Medicare homecare program to pay for homecare treatments whenever they are deemed necessary Medicare home health care is a program designed to help patients to adjust quickly, regain their health independence and self-sufficiency as quickly as possible.

choosing the most appropriate medicare
If you've reached the age when you are eligible for Medicare and your medical treatments require
that they be given in your home, it is possible, that if they meet all eligibility criteria, they may be
acceptable as home care treatment. Quite often home health care is less expensive, just as
effective, and more convenient than care an individual would receive in a skilled nursing facility or
in a hospital, so it makes economic and compassionate sense for the Medicare Home Care
program to pay for the treatments whenever possible. The prime goal of Medicare homecare is to
aid a patient to as quickly as possible become healthy and self-sufficient and independent.
In order to be eligible for senior citizen must be on Medicare and under the care of a physician.
Additionally:Additionally:
A physician must have requested the plan and be continuously supervising and monitoring its
progress. A physician must certify that the patient requires at least one of the following forms of
treatment.
Physical therapy, The services on a speech pathology therapist, Intermittent skilled nursing care,
OT (occupational therapy).
The home healthcare agency providing these medical services and service people must be
Medicare approved.
The individual must be homebound and a doctor must verify that the individual is homebound.
The following are necessary to meet the requirements of being determined to be homebound.
It is very taxing for the patient to leave and requires a great deal of effort.
Due to the nature of their medical condition is recommended that they do not leave their
home.Their medical condition prevents them from leaving their home without the aid of a
transportation assistance device such as a wheelchair or Walker or the help of another person.
Broward Medicare certified home care
An individual is eligible if a doctor verifies that they meet all of the aforementioned criteria. It
should be noted that should that patient ever require more than part-time or intermittent care, they
may lose that eligibility for Medicare home care.
The term intermittent or part-time is defined by Medicare as fewer than eight hours a day or less
than seven days a week over a period of 21 days or less. Medicare will allow exceptions
occasionally when there are unusual circumstances. These limitations can be lifted in those
exceptional circumstances, when the patient's physician is able to make an accurate prediction
when that additional care will no longer be required. It must be emphasized that Medicare home
health care is not a perpetual benefit.
Payments to the Medicare home care agency are the only payments that Medicare home care will
provide. Visits to the doctor and other medical services are not paid by Medicare home health
care instead by other parts of the Medicare program.
To find a qualified Medicare-certified home health agency, an individual may ask for
recommendations from their doctor, the discharge planners at their hospital, the Ombudsman at
their local Area Agency on Aging, or they may contact the Eldercare Locator.
Any of these can provide names of Medicare-certified home health agencies in the individual's
local area. In addition, the State Survey Agency for the individual's state of residence will also
have all of the state survey reports available on the state government website. These state survey
reports will have all of the quality indicators for all of the licensed home health agencies in the
state. It is a good idea to check and see how any home health agency did on their last state
survey before hiring them to provide Medicare Home Care services for yourself or anyone you
may care about.
