How to Keep Your Child Healthy this
Flu Season By Chris Salis
With flu season in full swing
and allergy season right
around the corner, keeping
your kids from getting sick
can be a full time job.
Take a look at this list of
tips to keep your kids
healthy this time of year!
Washing Hands
Regular hand washing is a
great way to limit exposure to
germs and the flu virus. Have
your kids sing "Happy Birthday"
twice while scrubbing!
Stay Active
Not only does physical
activity help your kids to
develop their muscles
and bodies, but it can
also help to reduce their
risk of cold and flu!
Get Rested
Kids need plenty
of rest in order for
their immune
systems to keep
the cold and flu at
bay.
Preschoolers
should get 10-13
hours of sleep
each night, and
school-age kids
should get 9-11
hours.
Eat a Balanced Diet
It might be a bit of a challenge, but getting your kids to eat a balanced diet--especially leafy
greens as well as foods high in Vitamin A and Vitamin D--will really help to keep them healthy!
