The advent of Internet has opened new vistas of wisdom and knowledge for the society and has affected each and every aspect of our lives.
Today Internet has become part our lives and is being used extensively by academicians, Scientists, Research Scholars and health care professionals etc. to access useful information.
Online health information is available so much on the net that there is an urgent need of educating users about its usages.
Internet offers access to enormous health information sources like e-Journals, e-books, technical reports, Softwares, databases, access to multi-media information so on and so fourth.
Millions of resources and databases are available that can be accessed and searched by the students, Research Scholars and health care professionals.
But it is unfortunate that our students are still unaware of these useful resources that are available on the net which can be accessed across the globe.
Internet has brought certain new challenges & opportunities for the users, knowledge managers and the library professionals.
It has changed the way we access & use information. It has brought significant changes not only for librarians but also for the health care professionals.
The knowledge explosion and financial crunch has affected the Health Science Libraries the most. The traditional librarians can not cater to the increasing needs of the users. They have to find out certain ways to cope with this problem.
One of the best way to deal with this problem is the application of Internet and access web resources/On- line health resources.
The objective of this presentation is to empower our knowledge community ,students and other professionals to access vast pool of information that can be accessed & used with the help of various Internet Access Tools.
Internet Access Tools means Search Engines/Meta Search Engines e.g. Google Search, Yahoo Search, Google Scholar, Pub Med, MSN etc.
With this aim in mind we have prepared this presentation regarding how to access e-journals/e-books and other useful information accurately and effectively .The early we start, the early we benefit.
