LYRICS In these moments of loss and torment I am with you alwaysFrom the darkness of night until the morningI am with you alwaysFrom life until death takes me

When hope seems lost, down and lonelyI am here with you always

I am with you alwaysFrom the darkness of nightI am with you alwaysFrom the darkness of night until the morningI am with you alwaysFrom life until death takes me

I am with you alwaysFrom life until death takes me When the vast skies don’t seem to call to youWhen the weight of this world bears downAnd the stars have fallen like tears

I am with you alwaysFrom the darkness of night 'til the morningI am with you alwaysFrom life until death takes me

Monuments built in remembrance of meBut monuments fade and fall in decayThe memories are all that remainsAs far as east is from the west, remember

THE SONG PLOT The song is about the loss of a loved one and I have decided to go with the death of a relative. I lost my grandmother six years ago to cancer and I am conveying my own emotions through this music video. The character depicted in the video is still grieving for his loved one, looking to the sky for an answer (asking if there is truly a deity watching over us or there really is an afterlife).

ACTIVITIES- 1The music video will start with the main character looking down on his loved one’s grave and having an overwhelming feeling of grief, he cannot seem to get over the fact that he will not see them again. The character is placing down some new flowers on the grass. The preferable shots to use for this would be a mid-shot looking down on the character, conveying a vulnerability; a higher power looking down on an inferior subject. This makes the audience member feel a pity/ sympathy for the character.

ACTIVITIES- 2

The character is being followed through town as he walks by the camera. He is thinking about his lost relative and how he misses them dearly. For this scene I will use a mid-shot as it will alleviate any difficulty in the conveyance of grief through the character’s demeanour.

LOCATION

The crematorium is where the video will start with the character staring at the gravestone of his loved one.

Most of the video will be filmed in the street, conveying the character as an outcast brought on by the grievance.

LIGHTING

Apart from the beginning scene at the crematorium which will be filmed during daytime (late afternoon) The rest of the video will be filmed during times which it is dark to convey the negativity of the characters soul and since barely any people will be around at that time in which I can also further convey the loneliness the character is feeling in his time of loss and torment.

HOW THE SOUND WILL CONVEY WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE VIDEO

The song begins with a combo of heavy drums and guitar work, This is where I can introduce my character, I will show the character in his bedroom turning up the volume of his sound system to turn the song on, while doing this he will see a photo of his loved relative. Being isolated in his room conveys that he is completely alone. As the lyrics begin I will show the character walking up to the crematorium and entering it, “Loss and torment” conveys the death of a loved one combined with the location, this is where the music gets softer and can convey deep emotion. During the second verse I will depict the character standing in the street , staring at this photo (Monuments of rememberance conveying it has large value to the character. The photo will fade out of his grasp, conveying that he needs to let go of the past as memories are all that remain, this works with the lyrics of “monuments built in memory of me but they fade and erode away”. During the chorus “I am with you always” the character will look to the ‘heavens’ and gradually finds re-assurance that someone is watching over him, questioning the existence of a God, this will also be conveyed through a scene in a church at the end when the character finally comes to terms with the fact that the past cannot be changed and the lost loved one would want him to get on with life.
