Theory: A set of systematic, informed hunches about the way things work.

To me a theory is an idea or a thought process about how things work.

Page 3: Positive thoughts

My theory is that positive thoughts = positive results.

My theory is Interpretive

• I have always been an up beat and positive type of girl. I feel that negative people bring others down. Their negative thoughts and actions spread to others. For that reason I am always happy, laughing and cracking jokes to make others around me smile and be happy.

After always thinking and being positive I noticed that my positivity would lead to positive results. Ergo: Positive thoughts = positive results.

New Understanding of People

• If someone is pessimistic about things it shows with their actions and how they feel. They might give a heavy sigh and mope around. But if you are positive you would dance around and be happy. When you are positive you can better help and understand the people around you.

Clarification of Values

• You can see other peoples values by how they act and think. If they are optimistic or positive about life and the way they feel they will be happy and kind towards other people.

• My mom was starting to have problems with her foot while she was running. She went to the doctor and they said she had the beginning stages of arthritis. She then went to the acupuncturist thinking positively that it would help her pain. Others were negative towards her choice but she kept a positive out look. After she got the acupuncture she never had pain in her foot again and she's run many marathons as well.

• One of my good friends recently got pregnant but instead of freaking out like most young girls would do, she was positive about the situation she was in. She never doubted her decision to have the baby. Now she is happily married and her baby boy is the light of her life. She wouldn’t have it any other way.

• When I applied to Cal State San Marcos I knew I had to work hard and be positive about getting in. It was not easy and I did struggle but I never doubted the possibility of me getting accepted. Recently I received a letter from Cal State congratulating me on my acceptance to the school. I was so excited that all my hard work and positive thinking paid off.

If you communicate positively when you speak it will influence others in a positive way. They will be more inclined to listen to

you and do what you say when you are positive rather then negative. When you communicate in a negative way it will

reflect back to yourself and others. So if you thinking positively you will in return get positive results.
