The experiences we have gained so far

• It was time-consuming to get the work group organized and started

• It was a difficult process to apply for financial support for project activities

• It’s essential to have a coordinator to keep the continuity of the work, this requires time and resources.

• Participants in the working group are doing this work in addition to their regular duties, this makes it necessary to set out labour-intensive tasks.

• One of the most positive effects of this cooperation has been the network building between partners in the fishing industry and government

• There has been a good dialogue and a willingness to co-operate which will have positive effects in other contexts where teamwork between these partners is important

• From a safety perspective it is important that the fishermen themselves are involved in projects and activities to promote safety, in order to achieve a successful implementation of the accident prevention measures
