Don't Let the Monsoons Keep You Away from Your Fitness Goals

Staying fit requires extreme levels of determination, loads of sacrifices and complete understanding

of your body. Behind the eye-popping, perfectly toned figures of athletes and celebrities you see on

screens and billboards, there lie lots of effort and hard work which most fail to comprehend. People

are not born with exquisitely sculpted bodies; it is the innumerable hours of training they go

through that shape their physique. They never shy away from their fitness regimen even in the most

menacing weather conditions. Similarly, once you have decided to achieve the perfect physique,

there is no going back. You cannot let adverse weather conditions like rain stand in your way.

Keep Your Diet in Check It is very easy to not go to the gym when it is pouring outside. Weather like that can entice you into

laying back at home and gorging on quick snacks. But is that what you want for yourself? Start

treating your body like a temple and go for a proper diet with organic food, fruits and vegetables.

Even if workout is not on the cards, do not cause more harm to your body.

Never Change the Schedule of Your Workout Whether you work out early in the morning when you are fresh or in the evening, do not change

your schedule just because it is raining. If it is not possible to go to the gym, work out at home.

There are myriads of things you can try at home like spot jogging and dancing.

Put Your Staircase to Good Use

Your staircase can be an excellent location to work out. Walk, sprint or run up and down the stairs at

intervals to get your blood pumping. As an added benefit, you work on your legs effectively in the

process.

Yoga Never Fails Although some people use yoga as a mean to de-stress and relax, it can also be a proper workout

method, aiding in blood circulation and structuring the body. It is always advisable to do yoga early

in the morning as the body and mind both remain the most active.

Set Up a Home Gym During monsoons when you feel lethargic to hit the gym, it can always help if you have gymming

equipments at home. Invest in a treadmill for moderate cardio training. Additionally, get other

equipments like resistance bands, skipping ropes, indoor cycle, etc. You could also take it a bit

further with dumbell and barbell setups if you wish. The best part about all this is that these are one-

time investments and you can therafter start working out at home completely.

Common Yet Effective Home Workouts Even if you do not have a lot of gym equipments at your disposal, there are plenty of workouts you

can easily do at home by yourself. Push-ups, squats, planks, etc can be effective in times when you

cannot visit the gym due to bad weather.

Dancing Helps If this is your thing, dancing can be a great way to remain fit in monsoons. Put on your favorite

dance playlist and move your body as this can help lose weight.

Don't Get Cozy at Home When you stay indoors due to the rain, do not sleep or laze around. Engage yourself in household

chores as this can help you stay fit. Sweeping the floors of the house, washing the utensils or

cleaning the clothes – anything helps.

As mentioned before, staying in shape in not a gift; it is a skill that needs to be mastered through a

lot of pain and effort. If you can let the rain mar your fitness goals, you might very well resort to

being the couch potato. Indulge in a healthier lifestyle though proper diet and home workouts even

if you cannot go to the gym.
