Identify Advantages and Disadvantages of our site
Advantages
Our site located right beside the main road, hence it is easily accessible
to the residential areas, commercial supermarkets and shop lots around
that area. It also located at the focus point of the whole area as it has
various roads leading to every residential areas. There are many facilities
nearby such as fast food restaurants, supermarkets and school hence,
people are most likely to spend more time at this area. The traffic
condition near our site is always great although it is linked to few
residential areas.
DisadvantagesAlthough our site has bring various benefits to the residents, but
nothing is perfect. Firstly, there is no recreation area, relaxation service
area or any sport central nearby. This caused the residents have no place
for sports and relaxation. Secondly, this area have insufficient of parking
spaces in this area as most of the car driver are forced to park their car
beside the road ,especially in front of the supermarkets and Mc Donald
fast food restaurant.
ConclusionAfter I have considering all the potential and disadvantages of the site I
have come out with an idea to develop this site into a combination of
recreation area, commercial area and parking area.
Benefits:A place for people to relax: Our site will become a place for public to
relax and do their sports activity
Solve the problem of insufficient of parking spaces: Our site will
provide parking services for public who wish to go for a walk nearby.
A place for people to communicate: Our site act as a place for the
residents to communicate which each another and meet new friends
Objective:-To build a sport area for the residents in Forest Height area
-To enclose the relation between neighborhood
-To promote and encourage residents awareness about importance of
exercise
-Act as a place to held community activities-Provide a relax and high standard sports environments-Act as a place for residents to get close to the nature-a place for all family members to gather (girls go for shopping, boy go
for sports!)
-a place to release stress and chill la~-provide more parking spaces to the visitors and residents nearby
Project concept
Modern lifestyle, country livingProject name:ecospace
In “ecospace” we focus on the term of eco that means green technology
and nature. In this ecospace, residents will be really relax just like they
are so close to the nature. The building will be surrounded by green plants
and solar energy will be the main force to generate electricity. In our
building most of the design is in wood and plants as we all know
greenery colour make the atmosphere and surrounding to become cooler.
This place will become a heaven for sport lover as ecospace is well equip
with many types of sport facilities. The third floor of the ecospace will be
specially design as a peaceful space for public to release stress , special
service such as spa , sauna and “smash room” will be open to public for
them to have a peace of mind.
In the first floor (commercial floor): there will have some shop lots,
restaurants, spa and special services for visitors to take a rest .
In second floor of ecospace: there will be badminton courts, tennis courts,
squash court and gym and yoga room
In the basement: a huge parking area which is free to public
PLAN EXPLANATIONEcospace is a special design commercial sport complex which is
equipped with complete facilities to fulfill the need of residents and
enable them to have a high quality environment to exercise.
. The main entrance is facing the west to prevent direct sunlight. There
are 2 main lift to access to the upper floor (the green zone in plan).In
front of the lift there is also a staircase to access to the ground floor (the
red zone)
In the ground floor, there is a spa, sauna, smash room and restaurants
and mini markets. This floor has 2 entrances 1 is from the south and 1 is
from the east. The lifts also access to this floor. There are toilet at the end
of the floor and a emergency exit right opposite the toilet. There is only 1
staircase to access to the third floor which is the staircase near the south
entrance.
In the second floor, which is the sport facilities floor, there is a gym and
yoga room (yellow zone) at the left of the staircase. The is a counter at
the entrance to ensure every visitors is registered before they enter. There
is a tennis court (grass green zone), 2 badminton courts (white zone) and
2 squash courts in this floor. There is only 1 staircase to access to this
floor to ensure everyone come to the counter before enter to the facilities
room.

The smash room facility is a place where you can let your hair down,
gear up and destroy real-life mocked rooms that simulate an actual
workplace, living area or kitchen. These rooms is complete with daily use
item such as: TVs, table sets sofa and more breakable item.
Everyone have different ways to express their anger, and most of them
prefer to damage or destroy something, in this room visitors are free to
smash and damage anything around them and this help them to calm
down after they are tired. We all get angry, we are human, so why not do
everything you have dreamed of doing when you are mad without paying
the insane cost and severe consequences of your actions.
Once visitor enter the room they are force to wear a hard suit and helmet
to prevent themself from being hurt.

Massage is a good way to improve the flow of blood in lymphatic system. It also
can release stress, pain and muscle tension. For those elder who are suffer for
headaches and muscle pain massage is a good way to reduce their pain and help them
to sleep well.
The essential massage oil, cool color background and soft music will also cooperate
well to give customer a comfortable and relaxing environment.

Facial treatment is a service to cleanse, firm smooth and moisturize your skin.
Facial treatment bring multitude of other benefits that offer you and your skin

SAUNA SERVICE
Sauna is a good relaxation after a long day of work. We can totally unwind and
“sweat bath” in the small warm room. The hear of sauna room will keep your skin at
about 104 degree F causing your blood vessel to dilate and speed up your heat
rate .This improve make your blood flowing system and help to to sweat and clean up
the toxins inside your body.

Architect
An architect is a person who plans, designs, and oversees the
construction of buildings. Architect has to produce some of the detail
drawing and come out with the idea of the whole building follow the
requirement of client. During the design phase, architect need to discuss
with the client about the requirement, concept and budget of the project.
After that architect need to heading up the team of professionals to do
their work and discuss about his design. Architect need to prepare and
present reports and design proposal to client.
During the documentation phase, architect need to produce some detail
drawing specifically using computer-aided design software. Some
professional software such as CAD is used to test the feasibility of the
design. Architect must also specifying the nature and quality of material
required to construct the building. After everything is finish documented,
architect need to prepare application for planning and building control
departments.
After all these application is done, now is the time to transform a
design into a real building. Once the project reached the construction
stage, architect need to visit the site regularly to ensure smooth progress.
If any problem happen, site meeting need to be held to change the design
or find out the solution to solve the problem. Architect also need to
ensure the project finished on time and within the budget to avoid over
budget and extensions of time limit.
Contractor
Contractor is someone who directly employs or engages construction
workers or manages construction. In this project, contractor need to
appoint a designer or a subcontractor to ensure the designer or contractor
has the skills, knowledge and experience and, where relevant,
organisational capability to carry out the work for which they are being
appointed.
A contractor also need to overseeing the whole project and make sure
everyone did their job well, and the work can be done before the due date.
Beside of employing the profession and worker, contractor need to
manage and organize all aspects of a building site.
The building contractor is also responsible for obtaining materials for the
project. As a contractor, they need to search for suppliers for different
materials that are needed in the project and compare the quality and price
of it, try to lower the budget and obtain good quality of materials.
Another responsibility of contractor is to acquire all necessary licenses
and permits from relevant entities so that the building project can begin.
These range anywhere from building licenses to zoning permits and there
are many regulations that relate to these documents which each building
contractor must follow in order to engage in construction.
QUANTITY SURVEYOR
A quantity surveyor (QS) is a professional working within the
construction industry concerned with construction costs and contracts.A
QS need to prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of
quantities with the architect and/or the client.
A QS need to minimize the cost of material for a project and enhance
value for money. QS need to seek for materials that are low cost ,high
quality and high quantity. Beside of controlling the materials price, they
also need to come out with the costing of repair and maintenance for a
project.
A QS have to give their advice on procurement strategy and providing
advice on contractual claims and insurances. QS also need to valuing
completed work and arranging payment from the client to the workers.
If the architect design is in a unit structure that will cost a lot of money,
QS need to give him advise to change his design and maintaining
awareness of different building structure may result in different prices.
A QS can either work for the client or the contractor, and either in an
office or at site. When project started, they need to keep track on any
variations that can affect the costs and send report to the client regularly
Civil and Structural Engineer
Civil and Structural Engineer (C&S) is a group of expect who are train to
ensure the safety of certain building in a project. C&S need to produce
with professional drawing, idea and reports and make calculation about
the safety of the building. The structural engineer need to calculate the
loads and stresses of a building to ensure it is strong enough to withstand
the weight in a building.
Before the construction work start C&S need to go to the site to
investigate about the hardness and quality of the land and ground and
identify either it is suitable for the upcoming project.
The C&S need to check and redesign or give advise to the architect
about his design to ensure the structural of the building is safe to build
and can withstand certain amount of load and humans inside the tall
building.
C&S also need to cooperate with some professional such as
environmental scientists , architect and landscape architect and
investigate the build site and the design that is suitable to be built on
certain land.
Civil engineer need to design the inner safety of a certain building such
as the fire control system and installing quick fire exit point that directly
access to an empty land. His job is to minimize the loss of life when
accidents happen. Civil engineer even have to check the safety of the lift
and design and arrange the pathway for the public to escape when the
building is on fire.
SUPPLIER
Supplier is someone who provide goods and materials to a certain
project. Supplier need to modify, package and supply the material to the
site when it receive order.
Supplier can be a manufactured factory or someone who sell the
materials. Some of the big supplier become a subcontractor and help the
contractor to hire profession and install certain material into the building.
Supplier also need to provide with transportation of materials to the site
and ensure the quality of material is excellent when it arrived at the site.
A delivery timetable need to be fix to ensure the stores have enough stock.
Supplier need to come to a duel either will the architect, contractor or
the QS about the price and the quantity of the material. Some of the
supplier even provide services to modify the material such as curving the
flat glass into sharp and additional charges will be calculated.
Supplier need to arrange the payment of materials from the contractor
and make calculation about the bills of material that sent to the
construction site.
Mechanical &Electrical Engineering
Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles
of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis,
manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Mechanical
engineer need to obtain the skill to read and interpret blueprint and
technical drawings. A mechanical engineer do their research and design,
install and operate mechanical product in certain building if required by
client.
Some of the mechanical engineer help in designing of building machines
such as Bulldozer, excavators which is use to transport and do heavy
work that can be done by human man. Beside of operating and design this
machines they have to have the knowledge to repair and maintain the
machines.
The electrical engineer need to cooperate with other engineers and
architect to come out with the electrical plan which show how the
electrical generate and transport to every single shop lots. Besides that,
electrical engineer need to design the lighting, heating and ventilation
system of a building.
To ensure the electrical system is safe to use and meet electrical and
construction safety regulation, electrical engineer need to test the whole
system and solve the issue facing related to electricity.
Electrical engineer also need to design the transportation and transport
networks. This is very important for a building to receive good signal.

CONCULSION
At the end of the project , we have concluded that is important for every
construction professional to cooperate as there are deep working relations
among various industry player.We have learn to design and plan a certain
area for it to be develop into a more valuable land.We also learn the skill
to draw a floor plan ,design of inner arrangement of a building.The most
important part is we have learn to observe and record as well as do site
analysis of our site to understand the micro climate , traffic and facilities
around it.
This project allow us to improve our documentation and observation
skill as well as to plan the way to present our research on paper.We also
learn to separate works and cooperate with our teammates and work out
effectively.
This project trade Qs and architect students equally. I as a Qs student
have learn a lot on how to do the costing work and do research on the
number of materials needed to build this building including the costing of
build in facilities such as air-conditional and doors.
