1. Welcome to Our Presentation on the Use of Animal Assisted
Therapy (AAT)
2. Please WCH Dragons, Be kind to us!
3. A Good Reason for WCH to Use Animal Assisted Therapy
4. Yet, Another Reason AAT is a Good Choice as a Therapeutic
Regimen
5. How AAT Works!
6. How AAT Works!
7. How do you quantify a feeling?
8. Sample Research Objectives for Psychotherapy Applications
Participants will be able to define how the use of AAT interactions
help clients and their extended families develop improved social
interactions as extensions of natural socialization processes used
by human beings. Participants will identify improvements to mood
and behavior using AAT in an individual or group therapy setting.
Researchers can use mesurements of seratonin and dopamine in the
human brain as well as hormonal releases of oxytocin in
participants as a biological research milestone.
9. Why AAT Doesn't Work!
10. How Animals Assist People to Maintain Good Health
11. Sample Research Objectives for Medical Applications 1
Researchers with the help of participants will be able to develop
research information on the use of animals as mental and physical
health monitors in people. Examples of this is the ability of some
companion animals to smell for and sense the approach of death in
humans, and other chronic health conditions like cardiac
conditions, diabetes and epilepsy. This ability can be used to aid
both clinicians and patients in pre and post operative management
of these life threatening conditions.
12. Sample Research Objectives for Medical Applications 2
Participants will be able to help researchers identify how AAT
helps them develop natural levels of immunity through the reduction
of stress related hormones like cortisol and nor-epinephrine
Participants will be able to help researchers with initiatives that
show the effects of woman centered AAT programs in hospitals and
institutions as a therapetutic management tool to assist in pain
regulation, mood adjustments and minimizing stress and other
factors associated with hospitalization in either short or long
term care situations.
13. When AAT is used in Clinics and Institutions, you need to
post signs like this to keep animals safe.
