Open your web browser and this may appear

You will be directed to Wordpress website

Click on Create Website

You will be directed here

These are categories

choose from

For the sake of this tutorial we will choose Business & Services

You will have to choose sub-categories

And more sub-categories!

For the sake of this tutorial

We will choose General Business & Services

Click here

Choose the theme of our website

Click on the side bar to view more

View more themes to choose from

But wait… what is a theme?

A theme is simply …

… the over all look and feel of your website!

For this tutorial, we will select Intergalactic

Click on Pick

You can choose another theme later

If you want to change it

Next, we need to choose a Domain

But first… what is a domain?

It is used to identify your page

in the internet world

Isn’t that amazing?! You have your own address…

Now going back to this tutorial…

Type in your preferred domain here…

For this tutorial, I will type…

Wordpress will check if the domain is still available…

It is available!

And it is for free!!

Click on Select

So my domain is miermatalinesva

But my complete domain is www.miermatalinesva.word

press.com

Wordpress also recommends domain name

For a fee

Wordpress will ask you to select your subscription plan

Listed are the features of each plan type

Click on Compare Plans to see more

To see more specific comparison of each plan

Click on Back Button to return to the previous page

Until you arrive in this page

For this tutorial, we will select Free

You will be asked for your account details

Fill-in your active email address

This will be used by Wordpress to verify your account

Fill in your username

This will be used upon log-in

Fill-in your password

Click on Create My Account

You will see that Wordpress is preparing your account

Upon completion, a welcome message appears

Now we start designing our website

Click on My Site

You will different menus for customization

Click on Blog Post

You will see this screen

Click on Title

Type About Me

Type some description about you here

Click on Publish to Save

You will see it saving…

A message appears after every successful publish…

Now lets check the effect of our blog post

On another tab, type your complete domain

In my case, it is…

www.miermatalinesva.wordpress.com

This is what your website looks

Now, let us customize further our website

Let us go back to our customization page

Click on customize in themes

This will appear

You are customizing your site

Click on Custom Design

Type in Your Site Title

If you have a tagline, you can put it here…

You have the option to display your header or not…

By checking or unchecking this box…

Return to main menu by clicking here

Now click on Header Image

You can put an image for your website here…

Click on Add new image

You will be directed here…

Click here to upload you own pictures

The open dialog box appears

You can directly type the location of your file here

Or you can browse by folder

Click on your selected image

Click Open to select file

Your file will be uploaded

Upon finish uploading, a check mark appears

A preview of your image is shown here

Click on this button to select and crop the image

Now it’s time to crop your image

A special blinking box designates the specific area to be cropped

You can click anywhere inside this box to change area for cropping

You can also click on the small square at the edges…

…to change its size

This is now the final crop area

Click here to complete the crop

Your cropped file will appear here

Now click on Colors and Background

You can choose your preferred color palette here

Select here the Page you want to be your Static page

Click Save & Publish to effect your customizations

Now its time to create the sub-pages of your site

From your main site

Click on Add in Pages

Click on Title

Change to Tutorials

Click on Update to Save

Your page is successfully Published

Change to Contact Me

Click on Update to Save

Your page is successfully Published

Next, we set the page

Let us go back to our customization page

Now click here for customizations

This will appear

Click on Static Font Page

This is the Static Font Page Customization Sub-Menu

The Posts page determines what page

All your Blog Post will be shown

Click here to view the pages

Click on Tutorials to Select it

Click on Save and Publish to Save

Now we will create a way for our website visitors

To contact us thru the Contact Me page

Click on back to return to previous menu

Click on Pages Post

Click on Contact Me

Click on editor area

Type the following codes

Click on Update to save changes

A message appears when update is completed

Your website is complete!

Now let us view you website

In your browser, open a new tab

Type your full domain name here

Press Enter key to reload page
