INTRODUCTION.In this presentation I am to talking about 4 laws and also talk about Health & safety and precaution on how to stay safe online and protect yourself without getting any trouble.

DATA PROTECTION ACT (1998)

Date protection Act is prevent people from misusing your personal details. Under the date protection act companies are required to keep your personal details save and secure.For example if O2 were to give your address and your bank details to another company, they can be taken to court under the date protection act. Your personal date shall be processed fairly and lawfully.

COMPUTER MISUSE ACT (1990)

Computer misuse act is there to prevent authorised access into someone else’s network. For example if someone hacked your Facebook and you get annoyed and sad, you can take them to court under the computer misuse act.

COPYRIGHT, DESIGNS AND PATENTS ACT 1988

Copyright designs and patens act are there to prevent other people from making a profit by stealing other people’s ideas. The biggest and most recent example of this is Samsung got find 290m for copying the design and functionality of the apple iPhone.

HEALTH & SAFETYHealth and safety is when companies provide you with good qualities such as chairs, tables and computers. For example if the college do not provide us equipment's they will be taken to court under the health and safety Act.

THE RISKS OF USING THE INTERNET. Virus attack is when your computer's security is penetrated, and someone tries to steal your computer information and documents.Hacking is the act of breaking in to a computer system and is a criminal offence under the computer misuse.Theft the act of stealing; the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods or property of another; larceny. Physical injury from spending long hours on the internet.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.

Install up to date anti- virus-Antivirus most be most updated regularly to stay effective against new viruses. Most antivirus software is designed to update automatically, but you can also update your software manually.
