We are all seekers because that was

part of our make-up

So we grew up seeking because finding

what we seek is part of life’s

satisfaction.

There are so many things that we seek

daily, such as .........


KNOWLEGDE

WEALTH

SUCCESS

HAPPINESS

RECOGNITION

POWER

And the big one ...... LOVE


Life will have or make no meaning if LOVE

is withdrawn from man

A loveless man is a life-less man

Just two days ago (Valentine’s day)........

Several youths were out there seeking what

they called LOVE from OTHER PEOPLE.

Several of these young people live in

misconception and fall into so many mistakes

Because more often than not, instead of

finding love, we end up finding pains


Is that people think that they can be happy

only because someone else says ‘I LOVE YOU’

to them.

However, the question is.....

‘how can you feel or receive love from PEOPLE

out there when you feel REJECTION for

yourself from within?’


Sometimes, you do not think it is RIGHT or

IMPORTANT to feel LOVE for YOURSELF

Because every one of us deal or struggle with

one kind of REJECTION....

- from the society

- from our family

- from our contemporaries

- from our SELF


A MAN must value HIMSELF first or his

emotional DEFICIENCIES will manifest

themselves in his BEHAVIOUR and his

RELATIONSHIPS with others....

Subsequently, he will be looking to others to

meet NEEDS (EMOTIONAL, MATERIAL,

PHYSICAL, SPIRITUAL) that only him can

meet or that he can only experience in his

relationship with God


It is one big pain a thing to be rejected by

others, but it is much a worse situation if I

feel SELF REJECTION (lack of acceptance of

ME and WHO I AM)

Until I CONQUER self rejection, I cannot

achieve acceptance from my SOCIETY, FAMILY

AND CONTEMPORARIES

And until I love ME, I cannot accept ME and

they cannot accept me until I accept ME


It is primarily how I PERCEIVE myself (ME) that

others will automatically perceive me.

I LOVE ME I ACCEPT ME THEY ACCEPT

AND APPRECIATE ME

What makes you attractive is the way you think of

yourself, not necessarily the way you look at first

instance




You must know that it is not wrong for you to

LOVE YOURSELF because it is....

1. GOD’S DESIRE

2. GOD’S COMMANDMENT

for you to LOVE YOURSELF so you can love others

"You shall love your neighbour as yourself."

Romans 13:9b

So any discouragement for self-love is anti-God


When you see people who show love to

others and do not love themselves, you know

1. That may either be pleasing people or

living a life of pretence (they are dying

inside of them and cannot say it to other

OR

2. That they are not living according to God’s

complete command of LOVE YOURSELF so

you can love your neighbour


Finding a place for yourself

in the realm of LOVE is

the first key to SUCCESS


It is very easy to lose love for one’s self under

the following circumstances.....

Failing to meet MY undue expectation placed

on ME by ME

Failing to meet up with people pleasing

Failing to accept God’s best for WHO I AM

Having an EMPTY EMOTIONAL TANK


When people know that you do not

LOVE YOURSELF, all they will do is to

take advantage of you, prey on you

and violate you


Out of pride over a thing about you

Out of any personal achievement

Out of people views or opinion about you

Out of people liking you

Out of pressure to belong to a class

But should come from God’s view of you as a

popular Jewish King once said .....

I will give thanks to you, For I am fearfully and

wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul

knows that very well....Psalms 139:14


- It will be morally UNJUSTIFIED and emotionally

CATASTROPHIC to seek love from people and

demand SUCCESS from life if you do not first have

love for yourself

- Until you first love yourself, you cannot love

others "Love brings you face to face with yourself. It`s impossible to love others if

you don’t love yourself." – John Pierrkos

When you see abusers, they are generally people who don’t

feel good about themselves, they are people with

distorted SELF-IMAGE and EMOTIONAL DEFICIENCIES (full

of anger, disappointment, shame and contempt)

What you have FAITH for will not work

except through LOVE which begins

with you....

....but faith working through love.

Galatians 5:6b


Finding your place in life (purpose, success, destiny,

calling, passion) inherently relates to who you are and

how well you know yourself (SELF-AWARENESS)

How well you know yourself depends on how much

time you spend with yourself

How much time you spend with yourself is inherently

related to how much you LOVE YOURSELF

The more you love yourself, the ,ore time you spend

with yourself (because you enjot yourself), the more

you know who you are, the easier it becomes to find

Until I recognise, accept and

APPROPRIATE God’s love for

me, I cannot love me


~YOU ARE ACTUALLY THE ONLY HUMAN BEING

WHO CAN LOVE YOU THE WAY YOU ARE AND

HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE LOVED’

~LOVING YOURSELF IS THE KEY TO

CELEBRATING AND MAXIMIZING YOUR

UNIQUENESS

Uniqueness = who I am in the eyes of God and

what He will have me do that only me can

do



1. Loving WHERE I AM FROM (from

God - my source)

When I love WHERE I AM FROM, I live daily the

BEST and make my SOURCE proud, being a

good ambassador at all times

Question is

Do you know you are from God?


2. Loving WHO I AM (a child of God,

a member of a family)

When I love WHO I AM, I am not able to DESIRE

to be like others because I love me


3. Loving WHAT I HAVE (my gifts and

talents)

THE STORY OF THE MASTER, HIS SERVANTS AND HIS TALENTS

“He also who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew

you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and

gathering where you did not scatter. I was afraid, and went away and

hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.”

Matthew 25:24-25

When I love WHAT I HAVE, I am not ashamed

nor afraid to use and deploy my gifts and

talents daily; and I do not envy others for

their gifts and talents


4. Loving WHAT I AM HERE FOR (My

purpose)

Truth is God does not need you to be

anything else more than what He has

called you to be. So keep FOCUS on what

you are here for and love it.

When I love WHAT I AM HERE FOR, I am able to

FOCUS on it without distractions from what

others are doing that they are here for


5. Loving WHAT I REPRESENT (my

convictions, values, ideals and

philosophy)

Anything should not just go for you. Stand for

something or fall for everything. And those

who fall for everything never succeed in life

When I love WHAT I REPRESENT so long as it

agrees with the TRUTH, I am able to live by

CONVICTION and form decisions that can

translate into PRODUCTIVE PLANS and

ACTIONS


6. Loving the WAY I AM (my looks and

personal disposition)

You are not too tall, too short, too fat, too slim, too fair,

too dark, too incapable, too dull or whatever; you are

just on POINT! Anyone who thinks otherwise is the

person who needs a change of mindset

When I love the WAY I AM, I live in PEACE with

myself, such that nothing else can give and I am

not pressured to belong; I appreciate God for it

because everything has a PURPOSE. I

understand that my look is part of my UNIQUE

PERSONALITY.


7. Loving to TAKE GOOD CARE OF

MYSELF (my body, spirit and soul)

When I love to TAKE GOOD CARE OF MYSELF,

people will not treat ME like I am nobody


Love for me does not allow me to engage is

SELF-DESTRUCTIVE habits (smoking, drinking,

sexual perversion, etc)

Love for me does not allow me to engage is

SELF-DEFEATING habits (talking down on

myself, belittling myself, etc)

Love for me allows me to engage in SELF-

DEVELOPING habits (reading, learning daily,

thinking, skills development, etc)


You are a

-God’s artistic masterpiece

-An epitome of His excellence in creativity

-A reflection of His glory

-A perfection of His beauty

-A showpiece of His majesty

-An object of His love


Success begins for you the day you realise

how much you love yourself

It is not how people love or do not love you,

it is how you love yourself

The love of people for us does not determine

our destiny, only God’s love does
