A Day in the Life of Merchants
During this time, Mongols had a favorable attitude towards merchants because they relied on trade. Merchants made them realize how important trade was. The Mongols created the Ortogh which means Merchant Association. The Ortogh helped merchants with long distance trade. The Ortogh increased trade throughout Europe and Asia.
ARTISANS
A Day in the Life of Artisans
During this time, the Mongols valued
crafts. Artisans had a high social status.
They also received tax remissions. Artisans
produced excellent textiles and porcelain
at this time.
PEASANTS
A Day In the Life of Merchants
During this time, Mongol supported it’s peasants. The
people of Mongol believed that the success of the
peasants brought additional tax which equaled more
money. The people of Mongol also helped peasants
organize themselves and they provided relief
measures for those devastated from the war.
