How TV Shows Drive Viewership Using Quizzes
First: “The Crash”❖“The Crash”(sounds dramatic, but it wasn’t bad) happened in July, 2014.
❖Our servers went down for a few minutes and then bounced back on
❖We were curious what did it and did some searching
❖We found that a TV show called Studio C had launched a quiz and within minutes had over 10,000 quiz takers!
❖By no means are they a blockbuster production but with their loyal fanbase made the quiz go viral and within a week had 100,000 quiz takers.
❖Ah, but why or how did that happen? I’ll tell you.
Emotions❖With TV shows, emotions are sparked in one way or another.
❖People choose to watch certain TV shows because it makes them feel different ways that they long for when not watching the show. It then becomes more than just a show; it becomes their show.
❖When you integrate your audience’s favorite aspects of “their” shows into a quiz, you’ve just created a way for them to finally get to interact on a more personal level with the things that they love.
❖Now, I want to go over some tips on how to create a successful TV show quiz.
Tips❖Maybe obvious, but important: Put the name of the TV show in the
title.
❖This will help with branding and SEO traffic.
❖Match the shows style in your questions, images, and results.
❖Include lots of pictures.
❖People generally connect with…people. Shocker.
❖So, use top character or famous celebrities…etc…
❖Also, images of places or things that will bring the viewer back to a certain scene is great. It creates a larger avenue for feelings and emotions to get involved as they reminisce.

There you have it…❖It’s really easy and it really works.
❖Use material that people already love and quizzes will make it a personal experience that your audience will also love (or maybe even hate).
❖But, both love and hate responses to quizzes make them more likely to share with others.
❖For people who love their result, they become happy and want to share their result and boast about it to the world.
❖For people who don’t like the result, they become upset and will want to share and vent to the world.
❖Both are beneficial to you!
