What is Pinterest

is a social networking site that allows users to create and manage a collection of photos of specific

interests, events, or categories.

Definition of Terms

PINS – are visual bookmarks for good stuff you find anywhere around the web or right on PinterestBOARDS – are where you collect Pins by theme or topicREPIN – is reposting a photo from another user

Creating an AccountLog on to https://www.pinterest.com.

Creating an AccountClick on Sign up with Email.

Creating an AccountFill out the details.

First Name Last Name

Password

Gender

Email Address

Location

Mark the tick box.

Click on Sign Up

Creating an AccountPinterest takes you to a tour. Just click on Next.

Creating an AccountTo end the tour, Pinterest asks you to search for your interest. Type in the topic of your interest.

Creating an AccountPins related to this topic will appear.

How Does Pinterest Work

Now that pins of your interest are laid out, you can start pinning! Hover over the top left corner of the image. Click on the Pin It button.

How Does Pinterest WorkName your board then click on the Pin It button.


CONGRATULATIONS!

You’ve pinned your first pin! You can enlarge the photo by clicking on it.


And when you click on the enlarged photo, you will be directed to the website source of the photo.

Installing the Pin It Button

The Pin It Button allows you to grab images from other websites and pin them to your pin boards.


To be able to pin images from other websites, we need to install the Pin It Button.


Go to about.pinterest.com/goodies/


Click on Install Now.


Click on Add.


The Pin It Button gets added on top.

Installing the Pin It ButtonWhen you want to pin an image from another website, just click on the Pin It Button. The image gets pinned on the pin board of your choice.

Installing the Pin It ButtonA new window comes out. Select the pin board you want the image to belong to. Change the description if you like then click on the Pin It Button.
