Inspiration

I liked this magazine’s layout and how it was simple because it was a supplement for News of the World newspaper. The character looks like he’s having fun and the whole magazine is based on Twilight as it’s a special edition magazine. I decided to make mine a special edition magazine too because I liked the idea of a simple magazine cover as they look more effective.

Making My Magazine Cover

This is the image I used for my front cover because it looked happy and fun like the cover that inspired me. The picture was taken with a green screen back drop which I then edited out to make a transparent background.

Here is the picture on a light coloured background to create the background for my front cover.

Masthead

Here, the original masthead of Fabulous magazine is behind the star’s head so I did this too for my magazine by bringing the photograph forward and the masthead backwards.

FeaturesTo make it clear the magazine was a special , I mimicked the original magazine and had a heading and subheading.

I added a ‘gossip’ feature where the original magazine uses a free gift because it’s about a film so I featured a new character.

The main heading shows one of the main characters in the show who has just been revealed to be homosexual so this would attract the audience.

I also added more features to do with Freshers as the original magazine had a list of special headings.
