The USA PATRIOT Act is used to detect and punish terrorist acts in the United States and around the world, it wants to improve law enforcement investigatory tools, and other purposes.

It gives new powers to the Justice Department in terms of domestic and international surveillance of American citizens and others within its jurisdiction.

The act gives the government too much power, threatens civil liberties and undermines the very democracy it seeks to protect.

The 9/11 attack brought terror and chaos to many

people, they started to feel unsecure.

Since the attack of 9/11 the USA government has been trying to prevent any other possible terrorist attacks using the patriot act, this act has helped prevent many attacks but it also violates many aspects of liberty. So it is difficult to have liberty while maintaining security.
