In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

By following my own colour scheme my Double Page Spread follows many magazines conventions by using a colour scheme throughout the magazine. I also included two quotes from my interview enlarged in a different colour to the text used for the interview, the colour used was one I’ve used throughout my magazine, I feel this relates back to my magazine making it more personal toward ‘Jam.’ The enlarged text is used throughout a wide range of magazines that include interviews, its used to draw the reader in and I chose these two quotes as I feel it will make the reader want to read the whole interview to understand the quotes further. The page numbers and website links on the bottom of the page are used to remind the reader of the magazine and it’s other details for them to look up, widening the media used for the magazine, I followed this convention to make my magazine look more like a selling magazine.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

I feel the imagery and different fonts used in the headline attract my chosen social group of 18-25 year olds. The font connotes youthfulness and represents the interviewee as alternative; the music genre I am choosing to follow. The images used show the model as not caring and being upfront, I feel that many young adults feel this way towards their own lives and I think this choice in images would benefit the reader to allow them to feel a relationship between themselves and the artist.
