Tunde Folawiyo has long harboured a loyalty to Nigeria and its growth. As CEO of the Yinka Folawiyo Group of Companies, a dynamic conglomerate with various global business interests, Tunde Folawiyo continues to initiate great strides in the fostering of Africa’s prosperity. As a recipient of the 2010 African Business Leadership Award and through his seat on the leadership boards of some of Nigeria’s most successful corporations, including MTN Nigeria, Tunde Folawiyo solidifies his role as a trusted business leader devoted to his country’s advancement. Tunde Folawiyo received his Bachelors of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1980, as well as an undergraduate law degree in 1984. Tunde Folawiyo concluded his formal education with a Masters in Law degree in 1985, paving the way for a thriving career in business specialising in industry and trade. In continuing his mission of contributing to the educational growth of Africa’s youth, Tunde Folawiyo serves as a director on the board of the African Leadership Academy, a key institution in the advocacy of the future success of Africa’s young leaders. Through this, his role as a Goodwill Ambassador and member of the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s World Fellowship, Tunde Folawiyo’s ongoing devotion to improving education has proved immeasurably beneficial to many young African students. He was awarded an honourary doctorate degree in Business Administration from Crescent University in Abeokuta and was appointed member of their governing council, a position he still holds with great pride today. Tunde Folawiyo’s contributions to Africa’s philanthropic efforts are of tremendous importance in strengthening relations with global partners. Awarded an honourary citizenship of the city of Houston and as the current esteemed Honourary Consul of Barbados, Tunde Folawiyo continues to cultivate an everlasting dedication toward his country’s progress.
