PERSONAL LIFE Married fellow animator Akemi Ota Got two sons named Goro Miyazaki and Keisuke Miyazaki Hayao Miyazaki wants his son to create a name for himself He did show his support of his sons career, he is the screenwriter for Goros film, From Up on Poppy Hill. 5. STUDIO GHIBLI Japanese animation film studio Founded in June 1985 after the success of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind Leaded by the directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata and the producer Toshio Suzuki 6. Howls Moving Castle (2004) An animated fantasy film Directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki Produced by Studio Ghibli It went on to gross $190 million in Japan and $235 million worldwide It is one of the most financially successful Japanese film in history. It is nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 78th Academy Awards in 2006 but lost to a British stop-motion animated comedy film, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. 14. The Wind Rises (2013) An animated historical drama film Directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki It won and was nominated for Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the year It was his last work before his retirement 15.
