“ Roshaneh Zafar” the Managing Director of Kashf Foundation.

History:

Ms. Roshaneh Zafar is the Founder of KASHF Microfinance Bank Limited.Ms. Zafar Founded Kashf Foundation in 1996and serves as its Managing Director.Ms. Zafar worked with the World Bank in Islamabad in the Water and Sanitation department for several years.She serves as the Chairwoman of Kashf Holdings (Pvt) Limited.

Education:

She is a graduate of the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA Masters degree in Development Economics from Yale University, USA.

Personality Types:

They are the Enterprising because she takes the risk to do things in her life.

Achievements Of “Roshaneh Zafar”:

Achieved Tamgha-e Imtiaz by Retired army Officer, which is one of the Pakistan’s highest civilian awards.

Women’s empowerment and was also awarded the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2007.

Before Starting Kashf Foundation:

Work with the World Bank. As a women-in-development research associate on the water and sanitation sectors.

After Meeting with Prof.Yunus:

She started Kashf foundation after leaving her job post at World Bank. Kashf foundation is located in KPK, Sindh and Balochistan. Its head office in Lahore.

Inspiration:

A moment of inspiration and a powerful vision for the future, came from after a chance meeting with Muhammad Yunus, which installed a strong belief in socially and economically empowering women through the Grameen Bank model.

Conclusion:

Roshaneh Zafar is pioneering the development of a women-centered and women-managed initiative that combines a micro-level lending and savings operation with related training and support activities at the community level.

In 1995, Roshaneh started the Kashf Foundation. Which offers a new and potentially transformative model for helping women access and manage credit.
