ACCESSIBILITY* Manila - Sorsogon may be the longestroute (about 12 hours by car or bus) if onetravels by land but it is definitely one of themost scenic routes as one passes throughthe many idyllic towns of Southern Luzon.The road ends in Matnog, Sorsogon. A ridein a motorized boat may take about anhour and a half from Matnog. For thosewho would like to take a plane, a Manila-Legaspi flight is available. Travel time isapproximately one hour. 14. Water faucets arestrategically located in the small village foraccessibility. Medio Island has a deep wellbut the water needs boiling if it shall beused for drinking. ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGVEGETATIONThe Spaniards named the group of islands"Islas Naranjos" because of the orangesthat grew on the island during the galleondays. Unfortunately, the natives did notknow how to care for this type of trees andeventually they all died and were replacedby the sturdier coconut trees which arenow the major vegetation in the area.
