INTRODUCTIONJob satisfaction describes how happy an individual is with his or her job. The happier people are within their job, the more satisfied they are said to be. Logic would dictate that the most satisfied (“happy”) workers should be the best performers and vice versa. Job satisfaction can simply be defined as the feelings of people have about their jobs. It has been specifically defined as an affective reaction of a person to one’s job or an attitude towards the job.

MEANING  The term job satisfaction refers to an employee’s general attitude towards his job. Job satisfaction is favourable or un-favourable with which employees view their work. In order to understand job satisfaction, perhaps the first step should be to demarcate the boundaries among such terms as attitudes motivation and morale. A job is an important part of life. Job satisfaction influences one’s general life satisfaction.   The result is that satisfaction arises from a complex set of circumstances in the same way the motivation does.  Job Satisfaction Leads To :

Motivation towards high productivity.

Want to remain with organization.   Act effectively in crisis.   Accept necessary changes without resentment or resistance.   Promotes the interest of the workers in the organization.

CONCLUSIONSMost of the employees feel that AXIS BANK is an good institution and offers them a lot to learn, they feel proud to be associated with such a prestigious organization but some also complaints about salary, which they feel is less as compared to other similar organizations. In the end I concluded that employees are satisfied with the communication network, work environment and other facilities, performance appraisal system, interpersonal relations with their colleagues readressal and training programmes. Greater satisfaction can be induced by providing sufficient information to employees about organisations mission, procedure and policies. Management should take necessary steps to increase the satisfaction level by maintaining the overall environment, by appointing separate training officer who can provide them with seminars on self-development and job related tasks, by effectively implementing the performance appraisal system and by considering seniority and experience along with other aspects relating to promotion policy. The major areas of dissatisfaction among employees is the work load, so some effective steps should be taken to overcome this problem and make the working environment more friendly.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

1. The employees were busy with their work therefore they could not give enough time for the interview.

2. The personal biasness of the respondents might have entered into their response.

3. Some of the respondents has not given any answer to the questions which may affect the analysis.

4. Respondents were reluctant to disclose complete and correct information.
