The E-Commerce sector has seen unprecedented growth in 2014 & would continue to witness the same. The growth was driven by rapid technology adoption led by the increasing use of devices such as smartphones and tablets, and access to the internet through broadband, 3G and other such services which led to an increased online consumer base.

Furthermore, favoured demographics and a growing internet user base helped aid this growth. In terms of highlights, the growth shown by home-grown players and the huge investor interest around these companies displayed the immense potential of the market.

The Online Retail is further expected to grow by 2018 after which it would increase with a decreasing rate.

What Do Women Buy Vs Men's

It’s a surprising figure for us that Saree has the highest market share amongst Women followed by ethnic wear such as salwar kameez, blouse etc. Whereas in Mens buying shirts and trousers online is the most increasing category.

Women Plus Size• Women Plus Size Search Trend has slightly

increased from January 2014 – July 2015.• The top states under this search phrase is

Karnataka, UP, Delhi, West Bengal & Maharashtra.

• However one can easily make out the difference that since 2012, the search trend has gone down this may be due to introduction of gyms and fitness centers.

Online Women Shopping• Online Women Shopping is not a hot topic

anymore, as these days people have zero down their marketplaces through which the shop

• However Karnataka, Haryana, Eastern Parts of India and Punjab are the key regions where the trends is still high.

• This has grown since 2014 and especially in northern parts of the country.

• Modernization and Fashionable Generation has adopted to Western Trends and Clothing.

• This year, international brands like H&M, A&F have opened their retail stores in India.

• The sale of Western Clothing in India has also increased by over 40% from 2014.

Western Tops• This has been the most growing category in

Search Trends. • States like Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP, Karnataka &

Tamil Nadu has been the hot regions. • Majorly these are those states where the women

are more liberalized and socialized due to which they prefer western clothing.

• From 2013, the rate of search trends has grown by over 50%. This shows there is a huge potential for the demand and supply chain.

Women Tops• Just like Western Tops/Clothing. This has also

shown the interest to grow.• The top states remains same however the sequence

have changed. Punjab leading followed by Karnataka, Haryana etc.

• Delhi is no where on the top list.

Kids Wear

• Kids wear category shows Consistent Performance.

• States like Kerala, AP, Karnataka, Haryana and Punjab are the hot regions for kids wear category.

• However if you have look onto the map then you would see that the kids wear category is searched all over the country unlike other categories.

Conclusion• Regions like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh should be the next Hot Target Markets for the

Online Marketplaces • The companies should make strategies as per the new emerging market trends. This would

help them to meet the demand and supply gap better. • There are few categories which are growing rapidly, which can be a business opportunity

for some. • The most surprising factor is women are searching for ethnic wear more as compared to

western clothing. It may be due to new generation being tech savvy and avoiding retail shopping.

• Considering the Expected Sales in 2018, the companies should focus on products like men clothing which has less competition and huge numbers in terms of transactions.
