Cancer- A disease caused by

uncontrolled division of cells in a part

of the organisms body.

There's over 100 types of cancer

known to man today.

Cancer:

Gene Mutation- A change in the

order of the nitrogen bases used to

make amino acids: Adenine,

thymine, guanine and cytosine.

Gene Mutation:

There a three types of gene mutations: positive, negative, and neutral.

A positive mutation is something that can benefit the carriers body. Eg. One is where your body has high bone density.( stops

A neutral mutations a something that changes your body but doesn't affect you in either a good way or bad.

A negative mutation is something that affects your body in bad ways. Eg. Smith Lemli-Opits-syndrome. ( learning ,growth and phys

Common Methods of TreatmentWe use a wide variety

of treatments for

cancer.

Such as:

• Surgery

• Chemotherapy

• Radiation Therapy

• Targeted Therapy

• Immunotherapy

• And more

Surgery: Surgery can help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer by surgically removing the cancer cell.

Chemotherapy: Medicines, and drugs to treat cancer.

Radiation Therapy:In this method, radiation is used to destroy or damage the cancer cells

Targeted Therapy: Uses substances and drugs to identify and kill of the breeding cancer cells.

Immunotherapy: Uses your immune system to find and treat cancer cells.

Cells will always duplicate themselves, unless there is something wrong with them.

Cancer cells, don't listen to the chemical messages that tell them to stop dividing themselves. This causes a never ending growth of bad cells that could go into your bloodstream then distribute to rest of your body

Colon Cancer

Colon cancer, is when

that overgrowth in cell

occurs in you large

intestine.

This particular cancer

may be called other

names as well:

colorectal cancer,

rectal cancer, or

Risk Factors

The risks of getting this type of cancer include:

• Age

• Diet

• Obesity

• Smoking

• Lack of physical health

• Drinking alcohol

• Eating processed, and red meat

• Personal history of colon polyps ( small

bulging areas of tissue)

Symptoms

Symptoms of colon cancer list as followed:

• Bowel habits change - diarrhea,

constipation

• Blood in your rectal waste

• Stomach pains- gas, cramps and pains

emitting from your coming from your

stomach area.

• Tiredness, unexpected weight loss

Treatment

For those unfortunate enough to get colon

cancer should know that there a few options

for getting rid of the cancer cells

Colon cancer can be treated by:

• Surgery

• Chemotherapy

• Radiation

Prevention

Simply changing your lifestyle a bit can help

prevent the risk of getting colon cancer.

If you eat a bit more fruits, vegetables, whole grains

and fibres. That can help with the prevention of

colon cancer.

Smoking, drinking and no exercise are some things

that don't help the prevention for colon cancer.
