2. Tune in to your child’s style

• Don’t impose your views

• If he or she is comfortable in a group, then try and arrange group facilities

• If he or she is happier playing with one or two friends, then support it.


3. Open your home to friends

• If your child is shy, welcome kids of his or her age group to your home

• For smaller kids, you can guide them about a few games

• Ensure that your child is having fun


4. Talk to your child• Your child may have

problems that you need to know about, like bullying, insecurity, shyness, etc.

• Talk to him and find out and be as friendly as possible so that he can discuss his problems frankly.


5. Friends who fit

• Your child should have freedom to choose his or her friends.

• It is a good idea if your child has friends from other cultures as this will broaden his or her horizon.

• Don’t be overprotective.
